~ Friday Thoughts ~

Happy Friday
~ Friends & Folk ~

we have a cool dry respite today,
before the heatwave & humidity comes next week.
that means yard work this afternoon ~
which includes tending the gardens...

don't you love how alien the scarlet bee balm looks?

always happy,
you know these are my favorites:

little flutterby
on a pincushion flower ~

more happiness!

our humble patio
where we enjoy eating, chatting
and of course it's my fav stitching spot
in the Summer months ~

progress is being made on the un-named sampler...
I really am trying to make it look very old, yet whimsical ~
but I ran out of room for the last letter in this word
so I did what our stitching-sisters of the past did:
I raised it up a bit higher and stitched it over one.
{this is still 2 strands on 32ct linen}

there. all better now.
and I love it ~

I have an idea in mind for the finish ~
but not entirely sure if I will use it
... or do something a bit different

I seem to always be changing my mind as I stitch.

Hannah will be visiting us this evening,
coming home for a bit to celebrate Father's Day with us ~
always a happy time when our one and only comes home!

Even rubbing the leaves of the plant gives off a beautiful aroma. Love Bee Balm.

Ahhhh my friend, been a busy bee here with our longer spell of cooler weather up Nawth so I've missed checking in! Still so much more I'd hoped to have done in our yard by now, but one day at a time. Love seeing your garden explode with color -- and love bee balm, susans & pincushion flowers...so do the 'humble-bumble' bumble bees too!! Your patio looks so cozy, enjoy your weekend with Peter ♥
