~ All I Want for Christmas ~

Good Thursday Morning Friends & Folk ~
it is the day before our Holiday Open House!

wow, that went by faster than I expected it to ~ lol

I still have much work to do in the Shop & Studio...
... finishing up 'finished goods', dusting, polishing, etc.
then my hubby & I will head into our deep woods to cut fresh greens
to tuck in amongst our offerings ~ making for a truly simple Christmas!

🎄 🌲 🎄 🌲 🎄

I want to share something NEW with you,
that Peter has been working on ~ {he's always working on something for us}
**I AM SO EXCITED!!!**
Since I have been smitten with embroidery for a couple of years now,
I have used many different hoops and stands...
~ but by far, this is my all-time-favorite!

Introducing our new
"Embroidery Station"©
from Notforgotten Farm™

Peter used the 8" x 12" {approx.} base to one of our Stitcher's Trays
{{ you know, the ones that clamp to the arm of your chair/sofa }}
but he left off the hinges so that I can use this on my lap or on a table...
the tray now serves as a perfect base to hold my box of threads
and has a magnet for my pins/needles ~

then he added an adjustable wooden dowel to hold my beautiful
Klass & Gessmann Embroidery Hoop!!

if you're not familiar with these heirloom quality wide-rimmed
embroidery hoops, you must try one for yourself!
these hoops have a burned makers' mark of a little cottage on the outer rim...
they are now made in Bulgaria {formerly made in Germany} from polished beech hardwood.

Peter also added a turned wooden knob for the hoop to adjust to just the perfect angle!

here is my work in progress in my hoop, attached to my tray below:
This Embroidery Station isn't just for 'embroidery' ~
use it for your cross stitch, crewelwork,
wool applique and even small rug punch or rug hooking!

here it is flipped up, so I can check the back of my work:
my little box of wound-threads fits just right on my station!

With a quick twist our Embroidery Station comes apart easily for travel,
 and is lightweight and sturdy...

my hoop shown is an 8" Klass & Gessmann,
~ we will offer our customers both 6" and 8" hoops for this station.

Price for the Embroidery Station with 8" K&G hoop is
$112.00 {plus shipping for Etsy or phone orders}

We will have a few Embroidery Stations available
{with 8" K&G hoops only at this time} here in the Shop
this Friday & Saturday at our Holiday Open House!

These will be available in our ETSY shop after the Holidays ~

~ Diversions & Distractions ~

 Hello Friends & Folk!
and greetings on this fine November day to you ~

I pondered over whether to title this post as such:
 'diversions & distractions'
... because really,
the subject matter that is of today's posting is neither a diversion nor a distraction.
it is something that I have been wanting to do/doing in between needlework projects...
yes, I am referring to beading again!

I went hog-wild at our local Joann stores last week ~
not looking for beads, but absolutely falling into a 60%-off sale!
woot-woot & score!

yes I bought beads.
and charms, clasps, toggles and other sundry findings too ~
I also purchased the 2 storage containers you see above and below.
oh, and a book too, on wire-wrapping for jewelry.

I have been slowly incorporating beads into my embroideries
and other needlework projects ~ but I really need to keep focused on the work at hand,
and that is finishing up new goods for our open house on Dec. 6th & 7th ~

You may remember that Peter made Hannah
a bunch of wooden earrings last year for Christmas presents?
well she loved them, and so did I ~ and so did quite a few of our followers!

so Peter & I have decided to make more ~
both for our customers who visit our Shop & Studio here at the farm,
and we will be offering them for sale ON THIS BLOG after our open house!

we're putting together a page here on the blog
that will allow you to shop directly for our
wood/wire/embroidered finished jewelry
and ~ we are excited!!!!

Photos below show a smattering of finished earrings that I made recently
for the open house ~ there will be a variety of styles/shaped/wood/wire/beads
with no two pair ever being exactly the very same ~

hope you love them as much as we do!

 I'll post more info on
how you can go about purchasing some after the open house ~

wishing you all a
peaceful and creative Sunday!
