~ Rabbit Season ~

Good Afternoon ~ Friends & Folk ~
...happy Saturday to us all...

warm temps and some sunshine has found me outdoors,
working in the kitchen garden and stitching on the patio!

I have been creating little rabbits ~
in thread and wool:

here is a little gardening lady in my hoop...

and a little needlefelted wool bunny in my garden of violas...

{and a cute little carrot too!}

I'm heading out to the garden & patio again today
 to stitch and felt a little bit more while the weather is good,
...they are predicting rain again in the forecast.

hoping your day is filled with sunshine & good health!

~ That Felt Good ~

Oh my...
well,
at least I'm putting my 'recovery' time to good use ~

For my readers here that aren't on Facebook or Instagram,
this is what I've been doing:
~ Needlefelting ~
{{ ok, I'm needlefelting + applique with a sprinkling of embroidery }}

 a few years ago, I spun some of our Finn ewe 'Esther''s fleece {aka Mommy}
she has a beautiful loose staple that is great for spinning.
but, I am not a great spinner!

as you can see below, my skeins are a mess ~
too tight, too loose, knots, slubs and pieces of hay
all make up a hank of my 'yarn'...
lol

but it's pretty
and I never thought I would be able to do anything with it.
Until Now.

it is perfect for creating my 2-dimensional {2D} sheep!

each wonky curl and loop of the yarn
just seems to add more of a realist effect to my needle felted sheep's coat...
~ don't you agree?

especially this little guy,
 below...

I'm embellishing with applique, embroidery and each lamb or sheep
has hand blown German glass eyes.

they aren't perfect, but I am improving each time.
the most important part of this is enjoying the creative & learning process as I continue.

I hope you all have a wonderfully creative October Day ~
full of inspiration, peace & kindness.

~ Friday Musings ~

 Happy Friday
Friends & Folk!

a busy day ahead for me ~ after processing customers' orders,
I have to get the Farm Shop back into 'gear' today...
... it has been as I left it since returning from the PSS retreat a few weeks ago.
{{ it has been neglected with all of the happenings lately. }}

with the hot temps and rain, the gardens need pruning back as well ~
and there are plants to be...
well,
... planted.

a busy little bee I am.

In the evenings, I have been stitching on this:
my little 'Tomato Season' design ~
 as I've mentioned, I'm working mine over-one
 on 32ct Vintage Sand Dune linen from Lakeside Linens...

this is the bottom left of the design...

my sweetest model stitcher Heather
sent me a photo of her progress as she is working it,
this is a sneak peek below, of the lower right side of the same design...
she's stitching it on same linen but over two threads
~ so when we are both finished you'll see a 'regular' sized model
... and a teeny tinier version of it too :)

I wanted to show you my finished project bag too!
I purchased the boiled-wool bag from Ali at the PSS Retreat
{{www.alistrebeldesigns.com}}
along with some new roving and new felting needles...

I appliqued the wool tulip on,
then embellished with needlefelting on the leaves, stem and flower.

I LOVE it ~
how many of you folks needlefelt???
I'm thinking of holding a class here at the Farm shop this Autumn ~
any interest in learning??

 and
of course I have been perusing Pinterest
every. single. night.

I love being able to pin my favorite things on my boards ~
So here are some EARLY miniature samplers to enjoy...
{these are not 'mine' ~ they are all from Pinterest}

 well I'm off to 'work' ~
 hoping your day is filled with wonderful little things!

 P.S.
FARM SHOP WILL BE OPEN TOMORROW Saturday May 20th!!!!
woot woot!
