~ Punch Punch Repeat ~

Good Morning Friends & Folk ~
happy Wednesday to you all!

slightly overcast with a bit of a breeze here at the farm today...
but another beautiful day to be sure.

I'm working on the finish of a project
that I'll be teaching at a Workshop in Ohio in October ~
{more details to come}

but here are a few glimpses of it thus-far:

seems as though I might just be...

~ Drawing Inspiration ~

So I'm already thinking of my next rug to design & hook.
can you tell what my inspiration is?

here's a hint...
the Crow Knows!

Here are a few rugs that have taken up residence in my pea-brain lately...
((( all photos below have been 'borrowed' from Pinterest and I may not have all information )))

Magdelina Briener

love their eyes....maker/designer unknown to me.

wool applique, but the concept is beautiful.

this one is wonderful ~ love their blue feet!

Rainy day today... loverly to stay home and hook.
on to the FINISH of hooking When Pigs Fly
& start on some-kind of sketching for a crow rug.

Joan & I are also challenging each other to hook a Jarrahdale Pumpkin
using hand torn strips with beautiful wools purchased from Rebecca Erb
...we saw one being hooked at the Sauder show by sweet Sondra Ives
{designed by the talented Alice LaMar Fraizer}and have been smitten with it ever since! ~
I will draw up my own wonky version of a large pumpkin for us and we will start on our pompions
{French for pumpkins lol} after our show here on the 16th, so stay tuned for our escapades!

and no more hate.

Freebie Chart for July ~

Hello Friends & Folk!

here's a little something for you to work on during this heat wave ~
a little patriotic design that's simple and quick to stitch!

the DMC Floss colors I charted this with are as follows, but you can use whatever you'd like
Flag ~ 844 (ground)
Flag Stripes & Chimneys ~ 918
Flag ~ 782  (Stars & top of Flagpole)
Flagpole & Roof, Windows & Doors ~ 3021
Crow ~ 310
Front of House ~ 3033
Side of House ~ 422

I intentionally left the other stripes in the flag blank, so the linen will show throughm but you can always stitch these with the 3033

I would LOVE to see your finished work, so send me a pic or two & I'll share them here on the blog!

Another HOT day again today ~ please pray for some mush-needed, soaking rain
(but NO high winds please)
and HURRAY!!! to my friends who got their power back on after a week of having none ~
WooHoo to YOU!!!

Blessings from the farm,
Lori
