Howdy-do Friends & Folk!
c-c-c-c-COLD here in VA this morning ~
… frost on the farmhouse windows & wood stoves are piping hot.
think I'll make a bubbling pot of Chicken & Dumplings for supper
~ and bake a nice loaf of good crusty olive oil bread.
:)
While I was in CT last week,
I visited Thistle Needleworks ~
a loverly shop once located in Glastonbury CT
but now has relocated to
Wethersfield, CT.
I picked up some linen for those 'pocket' designs that I have been charting…
aren't the beautiful?
on the left: 28ct 'Buffalo Check' Tattersall linen
& on the right: 28ct. 'Riviera' Tattersall linen.
both have that fresh-farmhouse look that I love
{{ and I think you'll like the designs I have planned for them }}
In between visiting family, shopping & getting things for the
Out Of Hand Rug Hookers Challenge {Facebook Group} together for the voting process,
{SOON I PROMISE!}
I did manage to pull a few stitches on this:
"Beloved"
I'm stitching on my 32ct Old Farmhouse hand dyed Linen
using DMC threads, 1 over 2.
I know some of you don't like how my thread colors 'fade' into the linen,
~ but that's the exact look I like ~
I try to replicate those old, time-worn & sun-faded samplers…
This will be finished soon into a pin cushion
and I'll show the finish here.
On a side note ~
Peter & I would like to thank you all for the wonderful comments & sales
we've received on our Primitive Rug Hooks!!!
…more to come soon ~
Have a beautiful Winter's Day my sweet friends...
~ Blessings from the Farm ~

You went to my all time favorite shop for cross stitch! When I lived in CT it was my shop; Judy Soloman was the owner; I don't know if she still is. They have been in various locations through the years. I went to them all from the seventies through the nineties- that's how long I've been stitching!
I love the muted colors...
I love your "faded" look!
