~ In the Farm News ~

 Good Morning Friends and Folk!
it is a beautifully sunny day here at the farm...
we have been watching our robins, sparrows and bluebirds
flit about gathering tufts of this and that to cozy their nests ~
I always enjoy watching our bird friends.

on a sad note, we had to say goodbye to our 11 year old little-boy parakeet 'Barbara'
who was named by Hannah when we got HIM for her...
{we didn't know 'she' was a 'he' so the name stuck.}
Rest in Peace and fly high little friend ~ we so loved you being here with us...
you will be missed

We enjoyed a wonderful weekend at the Woolwright's Spring Hook In last Saturday!
we were so busy oin our booth that I forgot to take any photos at the show,
except for this one LOL:

Joan and I had to do some retail therapy of course after the show,
you know, to decompress 😉

one of my favorite shops to visit while in Lancaster is ~
Hodge Podge
14 East Main Street
Strasburg, PA 17579
(717) 687-8951

a quaint little needlework/antiques shop run by the sweetest lady!

I bought the following linens from there ~

30ct Cocoa from Weeks Dye Works

30ct Tin Roof from WDW

36ct Vintage Sand Dune from Lakeside Linens

30ct Havana from WDW

30ct Straw from WDW
and my absolute favorite of the day that I can't wait to chart a Christmas design for :
28ct Antique Red Gingham from WDW
We also stopped off at a few antiques shops in PA & MD
~ in Maryland at the
Beaver Creek Antiques Market & Shops
here is their link on FB:

I found a bunch of small treasures like this white basket...

two little pincushions and old pail handles from Jimmie Cramer's booth ~

also this sweet basket in need of some tlc...
that I will patch with the old scrap of quilt that I found too!

I love old crochet work too, and found some doilies for a small pittance ~
oh and a little quilted pinkeep too!

yet another basket, this one is in pretty good shape ~

...some of the fabric was gleaned from The Country Store in Lancaster PA,

while the smaller pieces were found in antiques shop booths!

I am always happy to go to a show or travel to teach ~
but coming home with new treasures is the best part of any trip...

Hoping you all have a beautiful day filled with things you love
~ and those who love you most.

Blessings from the Farm
 ~ Lori
