~ The Final Countdown ~

Good Morning Friends & Folk!
and happy Saturday to you all....

We are now just one week away from the 9th annual
Gathering of Primitive Friends Show
here at our beloved Notforgotten Farm

can you believe 2018 will mark our 10th year hosting this?  ~
well we have some BIG surprises in store for our tenth year:
....will be including a Rug Hooking Day here at the farm

in combination with our vendors and dealers of folk art, antiques & primitives,
we will be adding fresh faces to our line up of regular dealers
which will include sellers of
Wool,
Rug Hooking Patterns,
Jewelry & Clothing
and other Needful Things for those who love all things....WOOL :)

We will also be hosting a small 'hook-in' for those who would like to perhaps travel together or meet up here for a relaxing day of hooking {this will require pre-registration}

IF you are a vendor/seller/dealer of
Wool and/or Rug Hooking/Rug Punch/Spinning/Wool Yarn related items
and would like an invitation to be a part of our 10th year woolly celebration, please email me at:

In the meanwhile....
I am working away here in my sewing room....
finishing up my own one of a kind goods to be offered at the show ~

I've been playing in the dyepots, too!
creating formulas for my own mellow & spicy hued woolens....

and taking my cue from our farmyard surroundings,
I am rug punching up some smaller projects...

(((( I really love how wonky my rug punching turns out! ))))
don't you just love tomato reds and late-summer greens?

Hoping you all enjoy your weekend,
but please remember there are those who need our prayers and help
in the paths of the storms and fires.

Blessings from the Farm
 ~ Lori

Rug punching? Like needle punching, only with wool? It's wonderful! Cutest little appliqué design, too. Can't wait to see what your crow rug will be, Lori... Lately, everywhere I look there are crows! I went to the local antiques mall the other day...so many crows! Must be the Season of the Crow! Today I shall be brewing a new batch of black walnut dye...
Happy Saturday, Lori!

I so love the oxford punch for yarn or wool, glad to see more using them. Barns and roosters are my fav things to photograph and collect or decorate with. I want chickens but think about my cats and just enjoy other peoples.

LOVE your fall projects... they are scrumptious!!!
Would you mind sharing what type of backing you prefer to use for your rug punch? I have tried a couple of different ones, but your backing looks like natural fiber and I love it :)
Blessings!

Lori-
I am rather new to the rug hooking scene, but LOVE wool! I have not heard of punch needle, but adore your nubby "tomato red" house. Could you share what size Oxford punch you used (#8, 9 or 10) and was it fine or regular? I assume you are punching this with wool yarn and not fabric? Or have you cut wool fabric, very thin (like #3)? Any information would help. Wish I lived was closer to Virginia, I would definitely visit the Notenforgotten farm!
Thanks Angela (Ohio)
