Good Saturday Morning
Friends & Folk
{how did it get to be Saturday again so fast???}
here is the finished model for the
Feb/Mar/April ~ Primitive Punch Needle Club from Notforgotten Farm™
{affectionately a.k.a. the "PPNC"}
I wanted to design something that replicates old rug hooking with different directional techniques ~
so I chose different motifs from several favorite antique rugs that I love and combined them here...
just a simple, central motif with a nice pop of red
that helps to bring out all of the more subdued hues in this project.
"Geranium Basket"
from the almost 'hit-or-miss' background,
to the purposeful striated border...
The backing is a slice of old wool, and the edges were covered
by whip-stitching on a variegated yarn ~
the members' kits include:
*pattern/color photo/instructions for placing thread to achieve same look as model.
*weavers cloth
*valdani/dmc threads to punch project
*piece of same yarn shown to finish project
If you're interested in becoming a member of our PPNC

and, if you're in the neighborhood today ~
come on in for a visit!
it's Crafty Saturday!!!!!
gather up your needlework in progress and come create with me!
punch - hook - stitch - repeat
❤
have a *sparkling* day my sweet friends...
Blessings from the Farm ~
