~ Decem-brrrrrr ~

 wow
it got cold last night!
after 2 days of mild temps we seem to be back into almost-winter...
a sparkly, heavy frost this morning in the big field ~
so pretty to wake up to!

It will be another busy day for us ~
the final preparations will be made for our Open House tomorrow.
Fresh greens need to be cut, and last-minute baking done!

please stop by our little Farm Shop tomorrrow,
December 3rd
we'll be open from 10:00 - 4:00
and would love to see you!

isn't he a handsome St. Nick?

for those who aren't on Instagram or Facebook,
I recently posted some photos of the new candle the I received from
Gable House Goodes/Misi Axel

Misi offers candles through her shop via Big Cartel:
and also holds a club for candle lovers...

this is her
Williamsburg Wassail candle & fixings ~
and a few photos of our yet-undecorated tree
... shown here in the Keeping Room of our farmhouse:

the scent of Christmas.....

I'll be decorating a little more after tomorrow, and will share some pics of the farmhouse & shop in their Holiday finery for you to see
~ if you're so inclined ;)

I also posted about the wonderful finishing techniques found in the
Fun With Wool book by Kathy Clark/Briarwood Folk Art

here are a couple of wool-wrapped-finished mats I did
using one of Kathy's techniques ~

small house

fraktur tulip
 what a beautiful,
neat & tidy edge this technique lends!
and it is easy as pie ~

Well I am heading to the kitchen for another cup of tea and a scone...
many miles to go before I sleep tonight!

wishing you all a cozy & creative day!

Blessings from the Farm ~
 Lori

I WANNA BE THERE!!! But I can't, at least not this year…I adore the Christmas coziness of your candle and tree…and, being a spinner, I can't help but grin to see your spinning wheel in the pic. Such charming little mats, too…Have a beautiful day, Miss Lori!

I'm with Nancy who posted above, I WANNA BE THERE TOO!!! `Oh your house is so pretty and festive in it's simplicity of white lights and antiques. I hope you have a huge turnout tomorrow and I look forward to seeing more of the farmhouse all decked out for the holidays!!

Yes please show all of us far away your holiday decorations and the shop all ready!! For that someone wondering if she can have a second baked yummy - tell her she can have mine since I can't be there. Someday someday!!

I don't Hook (yet) but that binding seems great for small stitched / quilted wall hangings.

Blessings for a wonderful open house

Your room photos look so cozy and think I almost could smell the scent of the candle, lol.

Do you spin or is the spinning wheel for decoration? Always thought I'd like to spin but then that would be another reason to collect and become obsessed with yet another craft.
