~ Monday Monday ~

Hello Friends & Folk!
and a very happy Monday to you ~

the sun is shining
{at the moment, at least}
but I don't trust it to stay long…it's been pretty absent for weeks now.

Hoping to get some laundry done & hung out to dry.
How many of you hang your fresh sheets on the line to dry?
I always have & always will :)

Friday, Peter & I headed out to the Antiques Expo in Fishersville, VA
it was sunny that day too, saw some wonderful early textiles and samplers ~
always my inspiration for my needlework...
I'll show you my plunder in an upcoming post.

This week will be filled with finishing models for the upcoming release of our Summertime designs.
there will be a pleasant mixture of wool appliqué, punch needle and cross stitch patterns for those of you who like to mix things up a bit…and by that I mean joining punch needle & the wool appliqué with the cross stitch in the same design.

linen, cotton, wool & thread  ~
a prim-perfect combination

I'm still cross-stitching over one, as it goes fast and looks so very old to me.
… and since seeing all of the beautiful antique samplers at the show Saturday,
I'm inspired to design more early-looking needlework patterns
that will be incorporated with my more 'primsical' side.

Heading out to hang the wash between raindrops now ~
and hoping your day is filled with sunshine & stitches

Lori, I hang out almost all of my laundry, but the towels. I am a strange creature and I even love watching it blow in the wind. It is very calming to me. I know I am weird like that, lol! I am looking forward to seeing what new treasures you have to share with us. Me, I am getting ready for a craft fair this weekend in Newfield, Maine with the historical society. It takes place in a quaint village that is home to a sweet 19th century museum called Willowbrook Museum. http://willowbrookmuseum.org/. Well, I had better get back to work. Have a wonderful Monday and thank you for sending my order out so quickly. Can't wait to get stitching!
Love,
Coline

I just don't trust that sunshine any more!! Every time I go outside to BE IN it, here come the clouds, again!! I'm almost finished your "Wool Gathering" piece. At least that helps me get thru' these gloomy days!

Interesting! We've had rainstorms a LOT, too...I rather like it, but it does lend a sogginess to the atmosphere, lol! I think "mixing things up" is a great idea! And you're mixing up three things I love! Yesterday I copied a sweet tree design from my antique sampler--1810---I don't think there's a copyright there...:) Have a great day, Lori and all...

Unfortunately, I don't have a clothesline anymore or any trees to hang one...But I did love the smell of the sheets...nothing like it! It's been beautiful in MIchigan for the past few days. I'm glad you've had a little sun come your way! Am looking forward to your new xstitch designs!

I hang all of my clothing, all bed linens, on clothes line, the only thing I don't is towels and hubbys jeans, he don't like the stiffness...I love my clothesline for hanging my stained fabrics on as well....we have had some glorious days here in Ohio but unfortunately a soggy weekend in forecast for Memorial weekend...I hope to get my annuals tomorrow and plant in all my rusty pots and boxes.....

Happy stitching

Blessings
