Howdy Friends & Folk!!
a little windy where you are?
March is marching in like a Lion i guess….
I'm finished hooking this little mat ~
Nancy B. has named it "Quick as a Bunny"…
I was stitching back the edges
~ and didn't really like how said rabbit is fading into the background…
so I did what any respectable hooker would do ~ I found some cinnamon-red-hot cotton fabric, and stripped it into 1/4" strips and am hooking it in-between my already pulled wool loops….
...see how he's fading into the blue?
in the photo below, you can see what I'm talking about….
where I hooked 'in the ditch' between my previous hooked rows.
~ hooking with cotton fabric is just as easy as hooking with wool ~
or velvet, or yarn, or synthetics…
it's the same loop, but you may want to make your strip wider if the fabric is flimsy.
when I am putting in a 'beauty-line' as I call it,
I don't really mind if my loops go akimbo or this way & that…
I kinda like the character it gives, and keeps it humble
:)
I chose the orange-red color fabric
because the blue & the red are some-what complimentary colors on the color wheel
{green is actually red's complimentary color…opposites attract}
but I may tone the red down a bit after I'm finished with a bit of walnut stain…
we'll see!
more progress…
so I'll continue the beauty-line all the way around my bunny's body…
but not his tail since that was hooked with my own handspun sheep wool ~
but then again, I can change my mind on a whim!
I'll share more on this rug later…
Have a beautiful Early March day my friends!!!
get outside & enjoy the weather :)
