Yesterday
friends Joan, Robin & Nancy came out for a visit with me at the Farm Shop ~
Nancy always brings along something fabulous that she is working on
and she did not disappoint again!
below you can see her
Winter Crazy Table Mat from Primitive Gatherings
that she is stitching…
look at those blue wools!
and look at that wonderful stitching!
all kinds of specialty stitching going on here ~
perfect handwork to get us through the Winter months.
~ here are my Three Amigos looking at more patterns from Primitive Gatherings…
hmmm….hard to choose what to do next!
this is what I've been doing ~
remember a post-or-two ago I shared all those pins from Pinterest pertaining to embroidery?
yeah ~ I had to do some….
it's called
"Embroodling":
embroidery = doodling = embroodling.
freehand doodling onto the fabric with an air erasable ink pen ~
then just stitch over it. easy-peasy.
I chose to stitch onto printed fabric though ~ wanted it to look a bit different.
{and I am a bit different ;)}
outline stitch, split stitch, split satin stitch, stem stitch, french knot.
and then I'll try my hand at some more different stitches….
no planning, no counting
no problem.
my brain likes that!
look what's happening outside my window this morning ~
S N O W
yep ~ the white stuff!
Iggy knows I'll be needing my stitching chair a little later,
so he is kindly warming up for me.
what a guy ~
the day is cloudy & grey…
perfect {for me} to paint a little with my watercolor palette ~
working on new fabrics to be listed in my Spoonflower shop soon.

Hoping your Sunday is Peaceful & Creative my Friends !!

Beautiful! I'm working on Nan Lewis's freebie. Chilly and off and on franchisees in Florida.
Your satin stitching is nice! Always loved bullions for little animals, roses, etc. Used to be into Crazy Quilting, so the blue wool piece makes me smile! Stay warm and happy!
Love those cozy creating days that January brings us! Relax and enjoy, you work hard to bring us wonderful patterns and needfuls!

Easy Peasy??!!! For some of you, I guess, lol! Really, I'm kinda likin' the idea of that show towel, perhaps with various stitches and thread types? Anyway, inspiration is always waiting here on your blog, Lori! Have a marvelously cozy stitching, painting, creating day!

I really like the embroidery project.
Love your doodling embroidery. I taught my young granddaughter to do this and she makes little pillows and bookmarks for all her friends.
I have never thought to doodle with embroidery thread, oh my! my friend is also working on the winter wool mat and you are right the blue wool is yummy!!!
Lori, I love your "embroodling"! And those air soluble markers... can't live without them! Stay warm and cozy with all this snow that's coming!
Blessings,
Lana
I want to say how much I enjoy your blog. No, I haven't commented before but after seeing your embroodling I just had too. It is gorgeous. May I ask what kind of hoop you use? Did Iggy keep your spot warm? Look forward to your next post. Thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Lori! Maureen here from Canada. What a joy it is reading your blog. I too love embroidery & am always thrilled at what I see in your work. Beautiful!
I emailed you a while back, I think while you were away (I learned later) but it may have gone to spam or is still lost out there somewhere! I was asking about your "Noel" design & whether it can be purchased? I love it!
Thanks always for your time.
