Good Morning my Friends ~
and if by chance you are taking a break from your cooking, baking
….or family at this very moment,
then HAPPY EASTER to you!
the ham is in the oven, the pie crusts are being chilled ~
the potatoes are scrubbed and cubed and I have a moment before I get down to business in my kitchen to share with you some quick snaps from yesterday ~
Saturdays here is the day for folks to drop in for a little hooky playing'…
usually we have a few, sometimes more.
yesterday Joan, Patty & Robin came in for a visit and to play in the wools :)
tulip chairpad (by me) |
chatting & working away ~
l-r Joan, Patty & Robin (sorry Robin, you moved so quick I only caught part of you!)
Robin came in with one of her rugs that she's working on, a beautiful robin with eggs in a nest…
(again, so quick I didn't get a chance to even take that snap!)
She had also picked out a beautiful peacock pattern from me at rug fest, and is color planning it ~
I cannot wait to see her get started on it!!!
busy. |
below is Joan, using her new off-set scissors that she purchased from me ~
(I just got them in and they are AWESOME
...for snipping your wool close to the pile height of your rug loops)
just look at that look of determination on her face.
the little tulip on my frame in the same photo will be a finished purse
that will be available at our
open house (in less than two weeks now!)
i love tulips. |
here she is wielding those scissors again (below)….oh my stars.
(oh! and speaking of that saying, "Oh My Stars" ~ it is one I use quite often,
…. Joan bought me that cute white mug you see up there with my favorite saying on it!)
Thank you Joan xoxoxox
now a professional tail-snipper |
She is working on a little lamb design from Woolen Willow ~
sheep & flowers |
Here (below) is Patty busy at work:
Patty is a relatively new hooker, as I taught her only a couple of weeks ago how to hook…
she is doing wonderfully ~ her hooking-style is very primitive and textural - love that!
Patty is also working on a rug from Woolen Willow.
hand cutting some of her wool strips |
Patty is left handed,
and she is really comfortable with that big old Hartman hook!
she is adding an eye to the crow on her rug, which was not there on the patter ~
...see? thinking out of the box already!
good girl!
remember Patty:
NO RULES! NO over thinking!
:)
keep on hooking |
... here are 2 little finished (almost) projects from Joan ~
she is working on Karen Kahle's (Primitive Spirit) drawstring sewing pouch (hooked portion below)
and she is making a few of Jackie Schmidts' (TFC Folk Art)
little butterfly pincushions for the open house, too…
sweet & vintage |
Uh Oh!
my timer just went off ~
time to bake the pies!!
Enjoy this beautiful day my friends!
* Blessed be *
Lori

I love seeing all the inspiration.
Happy Easter to you and yours. I am off to get my potato's going.
love the rugs! wish i knew how to hook.
Such fun!!! Nothing like getting together with needle friends. I have a pair of those scissors to use for my punch needle. No more snipping neighboring threads!! SIL is doing the cooking...I'm taking the deviled eggs. Happy Easter to you & yours!!!
so wish I could come hook with you and the girls.....there is a little shop here that has a hook in on Friday nights...but I don't do so well driving in the dark...and it would be a 30 minute ride...so I have yet to find anything closer....I would love to start one here at my home...but I don't think to many folks around here hook....so I am a solo hooker.....lol....happy easter lori....hope your dinner turns out great....
Happy, happy Easter to you!
