2011.
Two Thousand Eleven
twentyeleven...
no matter how I say or write it,
it's still weird...
it's still weird...
I guess for folks like me,
(the ones that mentally live in another era
~ through their collecting, decorating & designing)
seeing anything other than an "18" or "19"
in front of the year's date
confuddles my brain...
I've even been known to write '1910' on my checks!
LOL
(the girls at the bank had quite the laugh over that one)
*sigh*
oh well,
at least in my little world I can make time stand still...
long enough to stitch a sampler,
mend clothing,
enjoy my collections of white ironstone and blue fabric covered boxes

and appreciate my humble little farmhouse.
Today will be spent changing out my curtains,
from the darker ones to my white battenburg lace & simple white muslin ones...
...letting in the pale Winter sunlight

Away will go the sparkle and over-abundance of decorations
for yet another year...
the heavy, darker things will be put up and out will come a lighter, fresher look.

Hi Lori, I have been scrubbing away and putting away...I am tired of dark, so I put out some brighter quilts and changing out to some lighter decorations and fewer "things"...I can't wait until the sun shines again and green outside.
Hi Lori; I too enjoy your blog. Living nowadays in Monroe,Ct. is like country living too us. I also brightened the house this morning w/tan-earthy colors for the bedding. Looking forward to the new spring growth and baby animals. Bless your Heart; JoAnn D.
Avec retard mais sincèrement meilleurs voeux pour 2011 !
