{ Changed my Mind...again.....}

Hi friends....
have you ever begun a sampler,...
after having spent considerable time picking out threads & linen colors...
stitching on a very small count...
only to find that your threads aren't showing up as you'd like them to?

*sigh*

yes, I've been stitching on my
"Plump Wife"
sampler...
but my stitches were fading into the background
of the Parchment colored linen...
~SO~
I decided to try this: (see pics above)
...it is Week's Dye Works Overdyed Linen in Chestnut (30ct)

I am stitching this one-over-one
...with Gentle Arts Sampler Threads
and like the results...
ast least the colors of the GA/ST are showing up
on the darker background!!

I'll be here in the shop today,
...working between pulling weeds from the shop garden
and on this sampler!

Hoping you all have a lovely Easter Weekend!!

Blessings from the Farm,Lori

sadly I can relate, I have had to remove more stitches than I care to think about just to start over!

I've done that too many times... and have a stack of unfinished, deserted sampler starts to show for it too! (guess I'm too lazy to pull the stitches out! lol) I'm working on a piece of Chestnut linen too. It is YUMMY! :)

I really like how the threads stand out on your new linen. Could I ask what cross stitch program you use for designing your pieces? I've looked at a couple and hesitate to spend the money if I won't like it. Thanks so much!

Hi Teresa!
I use pattern Maker software...
I use the Professional version, yes, it is expensive, but worth it...other than that, there is PC Stitch, less expensive but not as many features...do yourself a favor & google both ~ you can download both for free to see if you like it, then purchase the software from ebay, or etsy, or amazon,....

hope this helps!
