{ Comfort Foods }

With the weather finally turning cooler here,
but not quite cool enough to warrant the woodstove burning yet,

I find myself, between stitching projects,
yearning to cook up some of my favorite comfort foods...

I have thought for quite a while about publishing a cookbook of sorts~
one that would contain my favorite homestyle, yet nourishing
recipes from my family, passed down and some brand new...

I would include in this book, some of my primitive illustrations,
perhaps a cross stitch pattern or two,
and really make it something that you could turn to
when those dreaded Wednesday nights roll around
and you don't feel like cooking,
but ache for something homemade at the same time...

I think after this weekend's show, I'll begin to really focus on that...
finally realizing that little dream into fruition~

let me know what you all think?
I so appreciate your feedback :)

Off to the Post Office and Bank now...
then back to my stitching and needlefelting for the show!!

Hoping your day is filled with all that comforts you!
Blessed be~
Lori

  1. I think you would do really well with that. I am the cook in the house and I have a feeling your recipes would appeal to me. I like whole foods, I don't use anything packaged, and I like simple. I also like to eat seasonally (what is locally grown or coming out of the home garden). These are all things I have seen you touch on with your blog entries, and combined with your sentimental artwork, I think it would be an endearing book!

  3. Thanks Will!

I agree with you...natural whole foods are what I cook with too, and since so many people are growing their own veggies nowadays, I think this will be a good chance to cook up something good!

I am looking forward to taste-testing all of my beloved recipes again too !!! LOL!
    See you soon!
    Blessed be,
    Lori

  5. Oh I really hope you do!! I collect cookbooks and I fond the best recipes are the ones not fromm the BIG publishing houses but the smaller family and hometown cookbooks!! Where recipes have more taste and not just look pretty on a page!!

  14. It is a wonderful idea! Lori, you are so talented and I know this book would be another great work of art, entertainment, and inspiration. There is nothing like farm to table food. I fear to think what we put into our bodies when we open a can of something for dinner. You are keeping alive the very traditions that brought about the success of a new country in a new world. Thank you.

    Blessings,
    Sallie

  16. Just thought maybe you would like to know the "after talk" of your first "show" !! Sue Hoover and Dori came in the store today and couldn't say enough good things..strike that....wonderful things about how well the show was organized, attendance and all around perfect for visitors and vendors. They can't wait for next year...I will have to figure a way to come shop! Congrats Lori on a successful show! Judy
