Wednesday Musings ~

the little sampler that you see below was one of my very first...
it's called
~ March Hares ~

I like how simple & quick it was to stitch,
and how sweet it looks simply pinned to my wall
below a shelf that holds a collection on early children's shoes...

this little basket full of raw flax and strawberry emeries
is one of my favorite things...

you can tell by the size of the one hatpin just how small
this little treasure is...
I like to display my old sewing needfuls throughout the house
... interspersed with other collections.

i can't help but wonder about the children that wore these shoes.

Here's my Heart...

Good Morning Friends !
it's a wonderfully overcast & grey day at the farm....

...the little juncos are happily stuffing themselves
with the sunflower seeds that Peter just put out for them,
I think they know that rain is on the way....

I've finished one of my new patterns and here is a sneak peek:
~ Here's my Heart Sewing Book ~

a sweet little tuck for your scissors & threads....
I'm so happy with the way it turned out ~
it will be available as a pattern soon,
but I want to finish two more little sewing needfuls patterns too...

Hoping you all enjoy a beautiful & peaceful Sunday!!

Blessings from the farm,

~ Lori ~

In With the NEW ~

2011.
Two Thousand Eleven
twentyeleven...

no matter how I say or write it,
it's still weird...

I guess for folks like me,
(the ones that mentally live in another era
~ through their collecting, decorating & designing)
seeing anything other than an "18" or "19"
in front of the year's date
confuddles my brain...

I've even been known to write '1910' on my checks!
LOL
(the girls at the bank had quite the laugh over that one)
*sigh*

oh well,
at least in my little world I can make time stand still...
long enough to stitch a sampler,
mend clothing,
enjoy my collections of white ironstone and blue fabric covered boxes

and appreciate my humble little farmhouse.

Today will be spent changing out my curtains,
from the darker ones to my white battenburg lace & simple white muslin ones...
...letting in the pale Winter sunlight

Away will go the sparkle and over-abundance of decorations

for yet another year...
the heavy, darker things will be put up and out will come a lighter, fresher look.
speaking of a fresher look,
please visit Felicia's blog
(www.bluemartinhouse.blogspot.com)
to see the release of her newest
cross stitch pattern...
a wonderfully sweet design for our Winter's Stitching ~

Wishing you all a Happy New Year!!
Blessings from the farm,
~ Lori ~
