Hello Friends & Folk!
...and a happy hotter than HELLo,
sticky, muggy, & downright YUCK of a Monday early evening.
I'm not a fan of the heat of Summer.
give me a chilly October/November day any time!

well, at least I'm 'thinking' about those months while hooking a bit ~
I was cleaning up my sewing room {stash/hoard/collection/squirrel's nest}
and cam upon some wools that I guess I hid from myself?
(i don't remember them at all lol)

(i don't remember them at all lol)
but
that's ok because I'm actually doing something with them...
I'm trying to give my eyes a break from cross stitch & embroidery,
but with hands that are never idle, I need something to work on ~

can you relate?
I figured, if I made a few small hook-lings,
that would be my respite from needle and thread for a little while
{that is until Winter/Christmas designs start creeping in my brain & workbasket}

being so blooming HOT, I hook on the porch of the studio ~
in the morning or later in the afternoon.
thankfully we have ceiling porch fans, so there is always a breeze at the flick of a switch
if Mother Nature does not provide.
a small pumpkin is finished, and I'm almost done with a little witch's hat.
...perhaps I'll do a crescent moon, a black cat, another pumpkin or three...
who knows?
although it is sticky out there,
I'm actually not minding working with my newly-found, not quite lost &
forgotten about 'hidden' wools.
just hooking the thought of Autumn tricks me into thinking
that it's cooler than it is ~ ha!
I don't know where I got this frame from,
but have had it for a few years...I believe it is an Appleton? but the label is missing.
I usually work on my Hook'n Punch Frame
{the ones that Peter makes and we sell in our Etsy shop)
but this one was close at hand so I'm using it.
It is a bit 'high' for me, though -
meaning it sits tall in my lap and makes my shoulders ache a bit.
oh well, make do for the moment, right?
I'm using my Miller hooks for these smaller cut projects.
{a size 7 cut is my favorite cut to hook in}
as you can see, the wear on the hook to the far right shows my go-to hook)

Peter drilled a hole in the handle for me
so I can thread a waxed cord through it and wear it around my neck...
I have a tendency to put hooks in my pockets and then try to sit down.
I wouldn't recommend that.
:)
Well that's it for now...
I'll be back when I have a few more of these finished!

Thank you ☺️
Will try! You too 😉
It is so Nasty here too in Western ,Mass ! Hot ,So Humid your hair does the weirdest things !!! The weeds are thick in places ,where the mosquitoes attack me .....I am Done with this weather pattern !
So nice to see you playing with wool & what a Great idea to drill a hole in our hook & put on a pretty cord !
Have fun pulling Loops !
We had 2 "hot" (for us) days but tomorrow we're supposed to get storms agains and cool back down to the mid-70's. While I am a fall soul too, I am always chilled it seems so I embrace the warmth. Then again, my "warmth" is likely many others' "cool" given the weather in Nod. Those colors of wool are gorgeous - and perfect for those sweet little hook-lings. ;-) Wow, though - I am surprised that your go-to hooking cut is 7.5. Given your wonderful primitive looks, I would have guessed larger. Stay cool....
