~ Homeplace at Christmas ~ A Visit to the not-so past ~

Good Evening Friends & Folk

~ I have a very happy announcement to make!

Many of my dear customers have been in search of my

 " Homeplace at Christmas "

🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄 🎄

...cross stitch pattern for many moons ~

{I had to re-chart this due to corrupt computer files}

And a bunch of lovely Youtube Ladies have recently showed their finishes of this pattern, when they bought it so long ago...

and tonight I am finally able to say that it has been fully re-charted and is now available in our Etsy shop as PDF or Paper versions!

...and even better, they, along with ALL of our patterns and books,
are ON SALE for 20% off during these crazy Covid times... www.notforgottenfarm.etsy.com

"Homeplace at Christmas" ~ designed and stitched in 2006, released in 2007 and now fully re-charted and newly released for 2020!!

...a scrolling vine of berries and leaves dangle above the most primitive two-story home you would ever wish to live in ~
the chimney holds a tiny tannenbaum and is that Santa's magic key there on the roof?
this charmingly bedecked red home is decorated with swags of green'ry under her windowsills, and baskets of seasonal fruits and foliage flank her sides...
the date '1830' represents one hundred years before my mom's birth year ~
"welcome Home...."

Inspiration for this design came from our family's many trips to Pennsylvania, where my mom's side of the family hails from...
specifically the Bucks & Lancaster counties...the old brick homes and tidy gardens always held my heart as a child, and still do to this day.

This Original model shown was stitched in 2006...
by my dear Mom: Elda Elizabeth Geiste Smith ~
She stitched this using two strands of thread, on 18ct white Aida cloth,
which I severely overstained with tea & coffee dye.

I then finished it into a pillow stuffed with whole cloves, scraps of cotton & bits of wool, crushed star anise, dried orange peel
and dried pine needles saved from many
of our family Christmas trees!

DMC threads:

611, 720, 734, 783, 919, 921, 3011, 3012, 610,
733, 3013, 3031, 3822 & 3853

Stitch Count: 168w x 84h
Finished size of pillow shown: approx: 9-1/2 x 4-1/2 inches.

thank you for visiting, come by again soon & Blessed be,
Lori from Notforgotten Farm
