~ Charting Cross Stitch and Chicken Socks ~

Hello Friends and Folk ~
and a very Happy Monday to us all...
the sun is shining, the temps are a bit cooler
~ but it is another fine day in confinement at the farm!

while I have been looking through older charts in my software program,
I have also been charting some new works too ~

This is called
"Garden Motto Sampler"

I have pulled my threads of choice and chose my linen and
will visit my little stitching chair here in my sewing room in the farmhouse...

my linen is Weeks Dye Works 'Cornsilk' in 35 count.

and my threads are all DMC ~
in garden-y hues...

I have some chores to do yet,
then will head here, one of my quiet happy places!

I'll put a movie on and enjoy some afternoon stitching ~

While in town last week, for our once a week-to-every-ten-days outing,
we visited Tractor Supply to get feed for our farm-friends...
I saw these Chicken Socks and they HAD to come home with me!
lol

Wishing you all peace & quiet
mental and physical wellness
and abundant creativity my sweet friends...

~ In the News ~

Happy Sunday Friends & Folk ~
keeping well and healthy I am hoping?

keeping our hands busy and our minds off of certain lifestyle-altering events
can help reduce our stress immeasurably ~
and stress is the number ONE cause of lower resistance and immune system problems!

Recently, on one of my favorite Facebook Groups,
the Prim Stitchers Society {aka: PSS} someone posted a photo
of one of my earlier cross stitch club designs, and asked where they could find/buy the pattern...

that got me to thinking that I should really release them to the public
...now that it has been a few years.

So I will do just that.
There will be a total of 18 small, quick-to-stitch and easy-to-finish cross stitch projects ~
some are 'seasonal', and others are 'everyday' designs.

the two collages below show the individual photos of the finished models that I used for the club;

Below Collage:
top row: Spools of my Thread, Happy ThankHallowMas, Patriotic Fan Pinkeep
middle row: Snow Pants, Garden House Pin Tuffet, Tansy Cat
bottom row: Lady Bird, Melancholy, Folk Tulip Needlework Station

Below Collage:
top row: Folk Bird Needlebook, Sewing Basket Scissors Keep, Little Red Schoolhouse
middle row: Hand & Heart Hanging Pinkeep, Queen Bee Needle Poke, Merry Gathering Basket
bottom row: There's No Place, Strawberry Basket Pinkeep, Alpha Basket Needle Roll

So,
as soon as I can get all of the files ready, I will release the patterns in our Etsy shop ~
I am hoping to offer these as both PAPER/Mailed and PDF/Download...
BUT I may not be able to get them all in PDF format from my older computer,
so it is what it is ~

Hoping to work on this task tomorrow
and have them uploaded into the Etsy shop by Wednesday ~
I'll post here on this blog, and on FB about this for those who follow there too!

~ Rabbit Season ~

Good Afternoon ~ Friends & Folk ~
...happy Saturday to us all...

warm temps and some sunshine has found me outdoors,
working in the kitchen garden and stitching on the patio!

I have been creating little rabbits ~
in thread and wool:

here is a little gardening lady in my hoop...

and a little needlefelted wool bunny in my garden of violas...

{and a cute little carrot too!}

I'm heading out to the garden & patio again today
to stitch and felt a little bit more while the weather is good,
...they are predicting rain again in the forecast.

hoping your day is filled with sunshine & good health!

~ Crochet ~

 Good Monday Morning
Friends & Folk ~
a very rainy, cloudy, dark, damp, wet & soppy day here at the farm today...

With these days of necessary confinement, Peter & I are being diligent about staying home as much as possible, going out only one day a week for shopping & shipping orders, and I thank all of our customers for your continued kindness, patience and support ♥

I have been trying to learn to crochet, with the help of my best-girlfriends
{{ a.k.a. The Tribe }}
as mentioned previously in a few of my past-postings here...
nothing fancy, I just want to master the granny square!

I miss seeing these girls so much ~
we have been getting together every Saturday for so long now, and now with the Stay Home movement I can tell you that we just can't wait to be back together again!

these girls and I have been chatting constantly everyday since being housebound
...thank God for FB and messenger!

So yesterday and last evening,
I tried to make tiny little granny squares using valdani perle cotton
and then from some other lightweight yarn...

don't ask me what I will do with these...make a doll afghan maybe or just toss them...
but I just can't for the life of me make two the same!
some have the square corners like they are supposed to, but most are round!

and some I will just call 'Squround'.

I'll try again today, after farmhouse chores are done ~

here are a few inspiration photos from my Pinterest Board on Crochet:

and here is a link to my actual "Crocheted" board on Pinterest for even more drool-worthy inspiration! --->

How many of you crochet?
How long have you crocheted? ~ what was your very first project?
do tell....inquiring minds and all that ;)
