~ Friends & Progress ~

Good Morning Friends & Folk!

wow... the Ides of March are upon us today!
 it is already in the 60's, and we have a blustery sky with strong winds ~
... blowing away the last bits of Winter and ushering in Spring!
yay!

Last night's First Monday was a great one ~
got some work done but always love chatting {& of course eating!}
we were visited by Robin & Lee {Millstone Mercantile},
along with our friend Heather, our friend Anita and of course dear Joan ~

We noshed on ham & turkey sandwiches,  veggies & dip ~
some chicken tenders and Anita made/brought deviled eggs and peanut butter cookies.
delish!

 Heather brought along some cross stitch she is working on....
{she is actually stitching models for me! yay!!!!}

Miss Anita has really become a prolific hooker now,
 she's working this little rug in both rug punch & rug hooking!
~ you go girlfriend!

we were also visited by the sweetest friend ~
our 'new' little girl, Pepper!
{she's the one who 'found' us here last week and has been with us ever since}
She has been so skittish, but last night really came out of her shell to say hello to our guests!
{I guess tempting her with all of that chicken JOAN really helped her, huh?}
lol

and here is my progress on Lancaster Barnyard
{{as of last night around 11:30-ish...}}

you can see I finished both the rooster and the hen,
and have moved on to the stems/leaves now;

 the one leaf under the rooster's beak still looks like a wool-y blob,
but you know as soon as that background gets in there everything will be more defined....

 Simple Pleasures for today:

• Work on orders, then shipping.
•While in town, pick up a few more supplies at the craft store
 for things' I'm making for the Woolwright's Hook-in on the 18th
• Hook a little more on Lancaster Barnyard
...then it's
Grilled Turkey Burgers {if it's not too windy this eve ~}
Homemade Sweet Potato Fries with Sea Salt
& Graham Cracker Blondies

here's the recipe for the
Graham Cracker Blondies ~
you will gather together:
1 box of Graham Cracker Crumbs
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1/2 bag of semisweet chocolate chips

 preheat oven to 350*
prepare 8 x 8 glass baking dish by greasing it with a little butter.
in a large bowl, mix together all of the ingredients until smooth.
pour into baking dish.
bake for approx. 45 minutes
let cool.
cut into squares & eat with a dollop of whipped sweet cream on top!

have a most beautiful day my sweet friends!!

Blessings from the Farm
 ~ Lori

Thank you for taking in Pepper. She looks like she will soon feel beyond 'welcomed' but more of a family member and comfortable.

Loved seeing what people were working on.

Thank you for sharing about this wonderful night of friends! I feel like I was there! And the plan for the day makes me so happy -- I just finished a to do list entitled "A Beautiful Day" because I want to make it so -- I like the title of your list! Precious Pepper -- he will be your buddy forever. Have a beautiful day!

Pepper is so cute in her shyness. Friends that come to us unexpectedly can bring us so much joy, like gifts from out of the blue! Better even than gifts for they are a true treasure!

Your new Pepper looks very sweet. I bet she will make a fine farm addition once she gets the pay of the land down. Bless her heart! I am glad she found your home to take a new chance with a family. Those graham cracker blondies sound like the cat's meow to me! Yummy!!
