~ A Hooker's Tool Pouch ~

Rug Hooker's Tool Pouch!!
I've been wanting to make one for some-time now,
well, really since Peter made me my hooks....

I used walnut-dyed Osnaburg {Cupboard Cloth}, cotton fabric & wool ~
the hand stitching was done using Valdani Pearl Cotton #8 "O178".

... it rolls up nicely and a length of ribbon ties it closed ~

here it is untied & unrolled ~
can you read what it says?
the two inner pennies read "my"
~ and the leaves read "hooks".

very primitively-stitched!
but that's the way i love it....simple & not-fussy at all.

the Osnaburg & lining fabric was stitched together on my trusty old treadle-machine.
as were the pocket seams...

a pop of color on the inside!

my hooks fit in nicely ~
even my loop-puller in the far right is right at home :)

I switch between different hook handles
to keep my hand/wrist from getting tired & strained.
I like my pencil hook & my ergo hook best.
{all of my hooks have the exact size hook & shaft}

now I can carry my hooks in one place
while my sliding needle box holds my scissors, pencils
& various other sundries I might need...

I blanket-stitched along the top and sides
of the pockets for added charm ~

the beautiful lining fabric came from Red Robin Fabrics in Marietta, GA
and was purchased while there last weekend ~

I love the way this turned out!
very happy with myself indeed ~
~::~

I'm going to offer this as pattern
for those of you who would like to make one your self ~
I'll release the pattern this Saturday at the Virginia Rug Fest,
then it will become available in my Etsy shop
along with the 3 new motto punch needle designs & new cross stitch design
that were released last weekend at the PSS Retreat.

I think I may even make a few more designs in the future
~ with different wool appliqué designs on the front.

Well,
it's time to get back to my hooking now, enjoying pulling those loops again ;)
~ have a beautiful evening my friends!!!!

That is just about the sweetest tool pouch I've ever seen! Very clever, sweet, and practical…just like you, I dare say! I must say, too, that I love that witch shutter you've got. Did Peter do that? Happy hookin'!

Very neat, I love it! What's a loop puller? It must pull loops, lol,
but how is it different than a hook?

Hi everyone! thanks for the comments on our shutters :) they were purchased from Friends last year who know how much I love my witches ~ purportedly they came from New England {where I grew up} and yes, they are OLD :)

I swear, you have the Michaelangelo touch! That hook pouch is pure delight! I have made wool holders, but although they are practical, and help keep things better organized. None of mine qualify as works of art.

Always striving to be more like you! Jo
