Sunday Musings ~

Happy Peaceful Sunday
~ my Friends & Folk ~

woke to a beautiful sunrise
… with a gentle breeze blowing the black walnut tree leaves around…

enjoyed breakfast & tea on the patio with Peter, Roxy & Minew.
fried apples, cinnamon buns & fresh-cracked eggs made by my hubby.

perfect so far!

I told you {i think?} about the corn growing in our garden ~
it's all Indian Corn! woohoo :)

here are some ears I picked yesterday
and put on the corn-dryer :

I'll hang them on the Keeping Room's chimney to dry,
~ I but thought they looked pretty here for a photo for you.
{cupboard in our Dining Room}

I've been bringing out my Autumn/Harvest things little by little…
~ more to come!!!

Peter hung this punched-tin Witch's Hat lamp for me this morning…
we've had this lamp forEVER waiting to be re-wired ~ so we did it yesterday.

he also made the swinging crane for me,
~ that I painted it in folk-art-style in a red/mustard paint with a smoked finish.
I need to take a closer pic for you…

here is my disaster of a sewing room this morning ~
… but it is my happy place.

I constantly root through my fabrics like a truffle-pig.
I try to be neat, but….
oh well.

creative chaos = a beautiful mess.

perfect shades of cottons waiting to be made into sweet-nothings
for the Gathering ~

and a glimpse of my partner…

cut & ready for stitching!

Have a safe & relaxing Holiday my friends ~
...create something beautiful with your heart & hands!

I'm hoping Sept. 19th is a BIT cooler than today! I just finished hooking a "Country Jack" to add to my Goodies for the Gathering Can't wait !! :-)

Awww, everything looks so wonderful, Lori! Your husband complements your imaginative environment with the practical things that must come sometimes with creative projects. The Indian corn is beautiful…the witch's hat lamp classic. Did I say that I am an Autumn soul?

Using that beautiful crane is a wonderful way to hang a swag lamp. Great thinking. ...jan

Lori, your sewing room is just perfection and I have a lot of the same fabrics that you do but I lack that creativity gene that you have! I also have a tin witches hat hanging around in hopes Mark will rewire it for our new home.
Enjoy your holiday and I look forward to seeing more of your fall decor.
