Woke up thinking it was Monday.
nope ~ it's Tuesday...
then add the fact that we went to the auction yesterday, not last Friday night
… and I am totally confused now.
my brain feels like this photo below:
~ a jumbled pile of thoughts & colors!
actually,
this tangle of yarns & threads are in fact my 'working' pile
that will be put into the project on my frame.
{ Faye! I found my frame cover!! }
I'm using Valdani pearl cotton size #8 and beautiful 100% Waverly wool yarn
together in my punch needle projects for the Gathering…
… the saturated colors are gorgeous!
my needle is set on the #1 setting {lowest} for a nice low pile of loops…
~ the pearl cotton & the wool yarn together in the photo above
shows you the subtle difference between the fibers used…this is the back of my work by-the-way.
… the Valdani is on the right 1/2 of the pumpkin, the wool yarn on the left 1/2…
{{ his eyes, nose & mouth were punched using wool yarn too }}
I'm having fun mixing it up!
~ AND ~
I finished some make-do pinkeeps {below} over the weekend too ~
each one different, all a bit wonky…like me.
all of those cotton fabrics that I showed you in my last post went into making them…
no planning, no arranging colors, just pick & stitch ~
… then I stitched some wool pennies to the tops.
I added some stitched detailing to the seams, vines & berries of course…
then dug in my huge collection of old buttons for the perfect ones to top them off.
then tied on some black silk ribbon and they are almost finished ~
I will be adding a few of my sculpted pumpkin pins then they will be complete :)
I love them ~ so colorful & prim-sical :)
...will have to make one to keep for myself me thinks.
Tomorrow I'll share with you a little more of my Autumn Decorating of this old farmhouse,
and what I scored at the auction yesterday!
Hoping you all have a beautiful late-summer day my friends,
… filled with all kinds of wonderful things!
~ Blessings from the Farm ~

I love the plump make-do pin keeps! They just invite shiny new pins (and a new project to begin)! Your punch needle mixed materials design looks promising, even from the back. Looking forward to the completed project, for the whole effect. I haven't been to an auction in soooo long, so I shall be content living vicariously through your auction adventure. Happy creating, Lori!
Gorgeous pinkeeps! They are truly unique and I love them all. I'm really looking forward to seeing all your creations on the 19th.
I hear ya...it feels like Monday to me, too, and a hard Monday at that! I just keep telling myself that Friday will come sooner than I think.
It's great to see your autumn projects. They really put me in the mood for Halloween & pumpkins. :)
