August is a good month ~
altho days are hot,
it hints at the beginning of
Autumn
{my favorite time of the year }
with cooler nighttime temps and changes in the air ~

I came home to my models from Jim & April ~ all I can say is WOW!
Here are a few glimpses of them, along with Pat's model too ~
This is a peek at
~ Hallowe'en Sweet Bag ~
stitched by Jim Waldecki
this will be finished into a sweet bag, as the title suggests ~
I'll be working on the finish of all of these today while resting & healing….

Here is
~ The House that Jack Built ~
stitched by Pat Simon
not sure how I'll finish this one yet,
but I think the size of this one may be good for an oversized,
sawdust-filled pin keep with a 'different' trim…
we'll see….

and here is
~ Olde Mustarde Moone ~
Stitched by April Whitaker Taylor
this one will be framed,
I have a new frame coming that I think you'll all love ~
Thank you Pat, April & Jim
...for stitching these for me ~
I'm proud to have your beautiful handwork shown on my designs!!

Peter brought this little friend to me this morning ~
a beautiful Luna Moth
this one is a female and was still sleepy/chilly from the 60* temps we had last night…
I think they are just loverly!
from their glowing-green wings…
to their tiny little 'faces' ~
did you know they have 'fur' on their backs?
you can learn more about them by clicking the link below:

while I was 'on vacation' in the hospital,
the temps were hot hot hot ~
...so I came home to our garden looking like a jungle!
~ here is a snap of Peter standing in front of our cornstalks!
the tallest ones measure in at over 10 feet high!
Hoping your first day of August is a peaceful & creative one my friends ~

Oh, those stitcheries look wonderful!! And are making me dream of cooler, crisper air and all things orange and pumpkiny!!
So happy you are back home on the farm.... hope you continue to feel better and heal. Happy weekend!
I just love the new offerings! Gets me into the Autumn-y mood! Wishing you a nice, slow day of taking it easy!
Love each one of the previews... Olde Mustard Moone has captured my fancy! Thank you for sharing the Luna moth. They are a favorite of mine!
I love all of the previews of your new designs, especially Olde Mustarde Moone. I also adore the basket of flowers design at the top of your blog-if you offered that as a paper pattern I would definitely buy it! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Enjoy your weekend!
I hope you're feeling better, I'm sure the return home will benefit... Love your new releases as ever, can't wait to see the Whole patterns! The butterfly is an example how perfect is nature...
Nice stitcheries and great friends you have. Okay, a stupid statement/question....Am surprised the moth didn't fly away but seemed to be quite comfortable on your hand and then the wood ~ or had the beauty come the end of it's life cycle?
Happy August to you!
REPLY: Dear Saundra, it was early morning when we found her, so she was still very sleepy & chilly from the cold night, I think that's why she was allowing me to hold her ~ i think she liked the warmth of my hand :) she flew away from the side of the house about an hour later as the sun warmed her up!

Happy August to you :)
Loving the stitching and you look wonderful and the backdrop is much improved from that of your little vacation! There's no place like home for sure! I bet all the critters were very happy to see you again! Make sure you pace yourself and don't over do it...just have to do a little mothering, Hugs to you! Krissy B.
