Simple Country Pleasures ~

Sunny, breezy chilly day here at the farm ~

a quiet beginning to the new work-week
and I am well-rested from the busy few weeks behind me now :)

On days like this,
I like to take reflective walks around this old farmstead.
reminding myself that it really is the simple things in life that mean so much to me...

here are a few of my simple country pleasures ~

handwork

old string and urns

napping
(not often, but treasured!)

gnomes and ivy

brown calico dishes

kittens!

signs of new life in the strawberry patch :)

birds nests

freckled-noses

polka-dot guinea hens

feathers

garden...anything!

walking with friends

I hope this Monday finds you well-loved
...and enjoying your simple things!

* Blessed be *

Hi Lori!
Love the pictures of your little walk around your farmland...such beauty to be seen. Do you think the winter we have left will let the tiny peeking-out strawberry make it?...would be nice!

Have a blessed day,
Martha

I must tell you Hun what a pleasure it is to visit you especially at this time of year when the Winter winds are howling outside my door...
I've enjoyed each and every one of the pics you've shared with a fondness for the critters, be they furry, feathered or not.
It is true that the simple things are the ones that should give us the most heartfelt emotions...

such wonderful pictures. I bought a set of dishes in that brown calico at a yard sale for 20.00 and use it for my every day dishes.

Lori, when you call your post "Simple Country Pleasure" it brings to mind the column in Country Living magazine. It was by Jo Northrup….I always went to her column first before reading anything else. She had a black lab and lived in North Carolina near the beach. Very sweet and expressive writing. I was always transported even when we lived in California, far away from country pleasures. Enjoy your pictures. Lee

Love all your pictures Lori - I would be happy just to see some grass right now...but Ole Mother Nature only wants to bring us cold and snow.
