I have recently been blessed
...to have a new 'friend' in my life ~
one who has thee most talented hands, heart & soul:
contacted me the other day via facebook with a friend request ~
he asked me to take a look at his work....
and I haven't stopped looking since.
it is my pleasure to introduce those of you
who don't already know of this fellow's ability to carve life out of old wood,
making perfect little treasures
for those of us that love and appreciate fine folk art & sewing needfuls ~
taking wood and recycling found items,
making something new from old ~
chipping away pieces of wood...
hundreds of pieces of wood ~
...tiny little triangles fall away to reveal Davids unique ability to see the past...
incorporating spools, rulers and thread spools
into dimensional works of HEART ~
(BE STILL MY HEART!!!!)
layer upon layer of
memories meld together
to make a perfect piece of Folk Art ~
adding words and a wry sense of humor to the finished work
sets David's work apart from the rest ~
I am hoping to work with David on having some of his pieces available in the shop ~
and have invited him to come to our
Gathering of Primitive Friends as a guest vendor
in September 2014
(fingers crossed that he will grace us with a positive answer!)
to see more of this artisans beautiful sewing boxes and his OTHER work please visit ~
and please tell David I sent you!!!
* Blessed be *

HI Lori,
I have seen his works before and they are absolutely stunning. I cannot imagine the hours it must take to make one of his pieces.
Your Blog is beautifully written as usual.
Blessings,
Sandra

Such detailed work it is hard for me to imagine the length of time it must take for him to produce just one piece. Thanks for sharing and I wish him well at the gathering.
