When Creativity Strikes....

I can't help myself
when it comes to certain things that I love...
...like tiny old keys ~

what will I do with them?
make jewelry or scissor fobs?
perhaps include them in some sort of finished needlework project?

wherever they end up ~
I'm sure it will be the perfect spot for them...
...for now I am enjoying them in my sewing room
on my worktable.

I have gathered up some wools too...
in my favorite soft shades of bone, moss & pumpkin spice ~
what will these become, I wonder...

also played in my vast stash of cotton fabrics and found these to work with:

 B L A C K S

 B R O W N S   and  M U S T A R D S
maybe line a few old baskets with them?
make a small quilt?
Autumn creativity has struck!

I'm also stitching up the last model for the
Little Stitches Handwork Club of 2013...
it will release early October and is aptly named:
"Thankhallowmas"

beginning of the last 2013 club model,
"Thankhallowmas"
with this design,
I've incorporated Hallowe'en, Thanksgiving & Christmas all-in-one...
it's primitive and simple ~ reminds me of an old holiday postcard a bit...
I'll share more snaps as my progress continues ~

If you are a member of our Little Stitches Handwork Club and
plan to keep playing along for 2014,
you'll need to renew your membership with me...
you can do that by emailing me at

I made a bunch of paper feathers the other day to fill some of my ironstone pitchers...
I was inspired to make some by my visit to Kathy's house a couple of weeks ago ~

here are some of mine:

old book script, sheet music, and scrapbooking papers
 aren't they awesome?
...love how they look below:

gave a bunch to Hannah for her little apartment,
and gave a bunch to Miss Flea for her big house.

{{{ SPEAKING of Miss Flea (and I hope she's reading this)
I have been talking to her about her getting back to her BLOG}}}
she is a very talented needlewoman, a great mom and a very dear friend...
I know you will all enjoy reading her past postings,
...so please go visit her blog and encourage her
to begin blogging again!
(love you Fleafer)

have a beautiful day my Friends!!

Oh my gosh - I love those "feathers"! You are beyond talented. I keep saying that - and it is true. I too love old keys and have a collection here. I take them out to look at from time to time. I did use one on a primitive sampler once. All the antique places that used to be around me have closed down - so I can never add to any of my collections....

Love those feathers ~ I collect scrapbook papers and would love to make some of those feathers to showcase my lovely papers by displaying them around the house in my ironstone pitchers, etc. Any chance of a tutorial?

I adore your blog ~ thank you for sharing your lovely home and needlework with us.
