Pulling some loops ~

my favorite basket holds my hooking tools ~

Top o' the mornin' to ya!
Happy St. Patricks Day & Happy Saturday as well ~
I have been perusing the many (too) blogs out there that feature rug hooking...
something that I love to do but haven't pulled any loops in forever.
So, since I will be working in the shop today ~ I've decided to hook a little sumpthun.
not sure what yet, but I have my things ready...

I picked some wool, added some cotton fabric and grabbed my hooks...

...the hook on the right is of course, my trusty Hartman ~
the hook on the left is one I found here in VA whilst shopping in our local thrift shop.
it is silver, with a small silver -button on the handle-end that have the initials
"LMW" or "MWL" depending on how you look at them...
(btw, the hook was $5...woohoo!)

i will incporporate the cotton fabric into the hooking...
torn into nice fat strips, then doubled over lengthwise to hook with...
love the brown, cream & blue wool together.

and this is who will more-than-likely be my hooking company:
our Guinea Hens...

They love to follow me around while I'm out in the yard,
and always are interested in what we're doing...

this is where they like to nap...
under the picnic table, where I'll be hooking!
not sure what I'll hook just yet, I'll let the wools & linen direct me...
but I'll show you what I come up with soon!
blessings from the farm,
Lori

I always get the urge to hook after I look at Rug Hooking Mag. I've been doing so much Herbal embroidery that I haven't hooked in a month or so....rare for me!! I'll be anxious to see what you hook up!!

Hi Lori
Love your choice of wools. Can't wait to see what you create. The colors remind me of your Guinea Hens.

Your pictures are wonderful. I tune in daily just to see your wonderful photography. What a great looking spot for hooking.

Happy Hooking
Rhonda
