Buttermilk Pitcher chairpad ~

Hello Friends & Folk!

hoping your first day of spring was a pleasant one...
I spent mine outside hooking! woohoo!!!!!
I have been wanting to hook a yellowware-inspired rug
since I posted about my yellowware collection last week...
so here's what i came up with:

I'm using a mix of 4 different colored wools, and three different cotton fabrics ~

...the picture below show the colors more true...

I tend to hook very high...my loops are almost half an inch tall...
do you hook high or low? do you hook as UNevenly as me? hahaa...I like it :))))

I like the way it's coming along, and I think I'll do the background with charcoals & blacks.
I think I'll braid an edge for this one too, but we'll see!

I was talking with my friend Sherry (fromsherrysheart) and she suggested that I offer the honeybee chairpad and perhaps smaller patterns like this as paper or red-dot patterns...
what do you all think about that? I value your input!!!
Today I'll be treasure hunting with my friend Joan ~
hoping to find some goodies for our
Spring Open House on April 14th here at the farm.

maybe I can find another old hook or pair of scissors to add to my collection?

oh, I almost forgot...
the shop will be CLOSED this friday & saturday
I'll be setting up at the VA Rugfest on friday, and vending there on saturday,...
Hoping to see lots of you there!!
(bring your hooking, a drool rag and spending $$)

have a wonderfully creative day my sweet Friends!!!
blessings from the farm,
Lori

I love the pitcher. How do you keep your cotton fabrics from fraying as you hook them?

The yellowware pitcher is going to be beautiful. OK...point me in the right direction to learn this rug hooking. I see some of the most beautiful things made and would like to try this myself.
Thanks for sharing. I love it and can't wait to see the finish.

hugs,
Carol

Please do make your patterns available on paper or red dot paper....They are so much more affordable for us gals! Love that bee pattern! Hugs, Sher

The pitcher is looking dandy... but the bee chairpad has been on my brain and making me smile (and want to hook) since you posted the finish on your blog a few days ago. Please... listen to Sherry and offer up some patterns? :-)

Lori....please do offer your patterns on paper...so many of us have only certain backings we prefer to hook on that I think it would be great (and fast and easy for you to produce and mail) What a win, win all the way around !

I love it, I think I own that pitcher...Your yellowware inspired me to photo and post some of collection on my blog. Love the weather, we've skipped spring and gone straight to summer here in Wisconsin.

Can you make about 85 finished rugs of both the pitcher and the bee.... for those of us gals who do not hook??? I'm sure we'd be happy to scarf those babies up!! :)

Just beautiful!!

Paper patterns would be wonderful! So many gals like to needlepunch too and the pattern could be used for hooking or punching...

My sister already has her request in for as many bees as I will hook!!!

Love the new piece too...what yummy colors...

Please do make a paper pattern for that sweet honeybee and a yellowware pitcher too ;) I'm not a hooker, but I think it would translate wonderfully to wool applique and even needlepunch too. You could have three times the customers with a paper pattern... Have I convinced you yet ;) We all think that Sherry has the right idea!
Have fun today, can't wait to see your treasures...
Blessings, Patti

I don't hook quite as high as you but higher than most people I think.

Count me in on a pattern for the honey bee and I don't care if it is paper or red dot.

I too would appreciate the opportunity to purchase paper patterns of your work. yours is the only pattern I have purchased for hooking and I love your work. Just can't afford to have it drawn on linen for me.
Thanks
