Winter Farmhouse ~

Hello Friends!
it is a beautiful, COLD here day on the farm today...
the air is still & crisp...the kind that stings your nose & awakens your lungs.

...our wood stoves are banked and the farmhouse is again
a cozy nest filled with sunlight & the scent of simmering spices...
it's on days like this that I truly love our humble home
...and thought I'd share a few snaps with you ~

I found the vintage crocheted runner at Vintage on Main, a loverly little shop
here in Amherst, VA.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
my 'married' tea-set...
all found in different shops locally...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

a chippy white candle box & blue and white childs' quilt
warms this corner of our keeping room...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An early blue basket filled with dried herbs & feathers
tops one of our cupboards...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

a beautiful conch shell set into one of my ironstone tureens
graces my step back cupboard ~
I love seashells and have collected them since growing up along the coast of New England.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today will be spent cleaning & rearranging the shop ~
getting ready for the new items that will be coming in...
it will have a fresh, new "old" Farmhouse look to it & I'm excited about
bringing you new, different items for your home ~
...along with supplies for needlework of course!
The shop is now open
Wednesday - Saturday
10:00 till 3:00
Make sure you click on the 'CLASSES' link
on the top of my sidebar to sign up for a class or two...
I'll be adding more in a few days...
Also ~
click on the 'EVENTS' link to see where I'll be vending this year...
(more will be added)
Wishing you all a perfect Winter's Day!
blessings from the farm,
Lori
Beautiful photos! I love the table runner and the blue and white basket. Seashells are so fun to collect, aren't they? They are little works of art from Mother Nature.
We're in the single digits here in New Hampshire. I love your photos...the house looks so lovely. I would love the on-line courses as well...I'd love a road trip more...but, that's not happening anytime soon!
Hugs,
Courtney
Lori,
Pretty photos of your cozy warm home. I like your married tea set.
Here is it blustery cold and snowy , but I am near the wood burner so I am nice and toasty.
Hugs,
Linda
Hi Lori,
I was so drawn to the child's blue and white quilt. I didn't know you
grew up in New England?
No wonder I was drawn to you and
your blog!
Blessings,
Susan
What a cozy place to be. You have so many amazing treasures - I know I could spend hours swooning over them were I ever to visit. That chippy wall box is so, so, sweet.....It's been cold here as well - last night it was -9 wind chill at 10:00 pm....I was afraid to look any later than that. But, we're supposed to warm up to near 30 or so the rest of the week. There's something wrong when that's considered "unseasonably warm." ;o) Wishing you well....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
Love the pics! My favorite is the tablescape with the yarrow in the ironstone pieces. It will be unseasonably warm here in Michigan tommorow with the temp getting into the 50's. We do not have any snow yet, nor does our mighty river have ice in. Very strange Winter. Take care, Janice
