don't they sound even yummier? LOL
you can see my linen in the pic above & below best...
I overdyed 28ct linen from Wichelt with a mixture of homemade black walnut dye,
coffee, tea, vanilla and spices...
I really like how mottled it came out,
and how the threads will stand out nicely against it.
I'll stitch with one thread over two, for an old, sparse look...
I have an antique frame all picked out too,
but I may just decide to paint one...
I dunno yet :)
and
the picture below
pretty much sums up how I have been feeling lately in this heat...

the little girl could pass for Hannah as of late,
she has received her Driver's Learner's Permit and is all smiles...
I have been doing my best to stay calm and positive while driving with her,
but I can's seem to inhale deeply enough to magically suck the sides of the car in to make it smaller and fit between things like poles, trees, cars and tunnels...
now you see why I feel like the woman above?

hahahahaaa....
( I don't know about that dog, though...either it needs to be sheared along with their sheep,

The linen looks great and is perfect for those colors!
Love the dyed linen.
I think we could all be that picture these hot days.
I keep looking for the brake on my side of the car.

I really need to learn how to cross stitch. Your new color names are wonderful!

Love the linen and color choices -- and definitely enjoy the names you gave the DMC!
I look forward to seeing your progress!!
Could it get any muggier, today?? Hope you all keep your cool as Hannah gets behind the wheel!!
Wow, pretty colors and the linen came out great. I like the mottles, too. What is that little black oval with the yellow bird? Is it magnetic to hold the needle. I'd like to know what you call it.
Good Luck, Hannah. It seems like I was only last week doing this driving thing with my daughter (it was 4 years ago already).
Warm Regards,

Lori, I really want to know how you get a job naming paint colors - or DMC floss colors! Good luck with sitting in the passenger side - our daughter got her license in March and it was quite the nerve wracking time. It does get better! (the driving that is!)~Ann
Ohhhh, Lori...LOVE that picture!! And you're right...WHAT is that dog wearing??!!! :o) Luckily, I'm mother to a boy child who, I think, came out knowing how to drive even better than me....No need for driving lessons there....And, no, I must decline the rain dance invitation....last time someone asked, I summoned every ounce of Ojibwa blood in me, put on my dancing moccasins, and caused a deluge (gee...who would have thought they're location-specific??) So, I must decline for fear of localized flooding....I will send prayers though!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
The linen is fabulous. Love the renaming of the colors. The only on that doesn't sound to yummy is the shoot color.
It will be exciting to see your progress. I love dying my linen, I actually bake it and have a great time watching it through the oven door.
