Studio Redux ~

Drastic times call for drastic measures...

I shudder when I think of it !!

I have been working in a mess for the past couple of months...

and I just can't stand it ANY longer!

you know how we get,
when we're in a creative frenzy...
...things land where they're thrown..

piles of fabrics here,
baskets of "stuff" there.

Besides that,
I had 'lost' myself in decorating....
the room just didn't fit into my little prim farmhouse anylonger.

it was becoming a bit 'frou-frou' and it made me cringe everytime I entered it to work!
SOOOooooo

Yesterday,
I bit the bullet.
Took the plunge.
Forged ahead.
Dared to go where no woman has gone.....
I'm totally redoing my studio.
I'll share more pics of the 'finish' later...
and
keep your eye on that yellow lamp
in the second picture from the top....
it's on a tall bookshelf towards the back of the room.
Blessings from the Farm,
Lori

Ohhhhhhhhh, this made me feel better. I'm planning to show pics of my space today, too. And I already cleaned it up. It does make working and staying on task much easier. Way to go.
Oh, I noticed the treadmill hidden in the corner. I tried that, too, but had to move it out of the studio. No room.

I love this!! Right now my studio is good ~ my office ~ looks just like this!! Don't you wonder how we accomplish anything in all the chaos?

I know what you mean, the keeping room I've been working on for months is also where I craft and I don't dare show pictures below table height because I have so many boxes and baskets of fabric. I think I still have several boxes of Christmas decorations in there that I need to store somewhere. I'm looking forward to seeing your finished room. I loved the pictures of your baby peacock, I'm looking forward to watching him grow.
Take care,
Sallie

But your "before" pictures look so much like my "after pictures. I can't wait to see what you do. Karmen

I was so happy to see that I am not alone in my "creative chaos"!!
No matter how hard I try, I seem to always have a mess somewhere..the dining room table, the living room by my recliner, my sewing table....but the amazing thing is that I KNOW where everthing is!! My "real craft room" is on schedule to get cleaned on Monday so I may post before and after pics too! Thanks for the inspiration Lori!

No wonder you need a vacation!! I don't have space for a craft room so our TV/sunroom is where I stash all my stuff. I'm sure yours will look great when you get it all sorted!!

I know exactly what you mean. This morning in my space I had fabrics and trimmings everywhere. I need to get it together and organized but isn't it fun to just be and create!

Lori..your room doesn't look bad at all, but I can't wait to see the after pictures!

I should take pictures of my sewing room. Maybe it would "shame" me into cleaning and reorganizing! I have so many books and magazines, I don't know what to do with them...and then of course all the little "what-me-nots" I have hanging around. Good luck..I know your room will be fabulous!

Lori, can't wait to see what you do with this room....I think it is the creative side of us that causes this, lol, I too go through phases of different looks, but always come back to farm/primitives/country.....smiles, Linda
