oh what a beautiful morning !

'Tis Sunday...

we woke early to the sounds of the roosters, hens, guinea's and peacock
welcoming the sun...

the donkey's and sheep were next to greet the morning's warm rays.

I stepped out onto the front porch and there they were...
my sweet white lilacs,
all bloomed and beautiful!!!

I adore lilacs~
their heady scent reminds me of
summers spent in Alabama,
when, as a child,
I would visit my paternal Grandmother...
~ she had two huge purple lilac bushes that flanked
either side of the front door to her tiny little house...
{you had to dodge huge bumbler-bees to get in our out!!}
...my white lilac-bush was a gift from a beloved neighbor,
Patsy Daniels...
who, when we first moved here almost 7 years ago,
made our family feel welcomed & much-loved...
{I quickly adopted her as my 'southern Mother'...}

she has gifted me often with plants and cuttings
from her own garden, that have happily taken root here on our farm...
small reminders of friendships and family that continue to grow with
a little kindness & love...

share your garden with your friends and family...
give a living piece of yourself to someone and see
just how much the two of you will grow...

Wishing you a beautiful spring Sunday
filled with all things green and thriving!!

Blessings from the Farm,
Lori

I have brought many cuttings from my dad's home in Virginia to live in Michigan. Some have survived and thrived and others not so much. But, like you, the ones that do survive remind me of home.

I watched a pair of jays building a nest in the tree in our front yard. The cardinals and titmouses are playing kissy-kissy. Every day is a new surprise with new things popping out of the ground!! My newest hooking piece is one I drew of my Spring garden. Yes, the season is truly inspiring!!
How is your beauty berry bush looking?

Well said Lori,
I love sharing plants . . . and giving new ones too.
When I re-married 7 years ago I brought along many plants from my little farm house. I may not be in the country anymore, but when I see those plants in my heart I am!

Each day of spring is a wonder!
