{ and More progress...}

I've finished the border...
I LOVE love the threads...Gentle Arts/Sampler Threads "Pebble"
(if I haven't already mentioned!!)

& now I'm working on the wording,
"Plante ye Seedes,
All in a Rowe,
One to Rotte and
one to Growe,
One for thee and
one for thee Crowe"....
I'm now using Gentle Arts/Sampler Threads
"Piney Woods"...
beautiful,
variegated shades of greens,
from moss to sprout,
& all in between...

I will finish all the wording, then move on to the motifs...
(and there will be many!)
...this sampler, when finished,
will measure approx.
11 inches wide by 6 1/2 inches tall....
not too big, not too small and,
done on 28 ct. linen, helps save our 'tired eyes' a bit...

How many of you out there like to stitch on a smaller count?
THAT will be my next POLL question!!!
I made Baked Ziti for supper tonight,
along with a home-baked loaf of bread,
and a nice cool, crisp green salad...
I had a doctor's visit today...
I have been having pains in my chest for the past couple of weeks...
(I have big boobs, so my 'pains' are somewhat unrecognizable...)
SOOOOooooo
I went in and they first gave me a blood test for the H-Pylori virus...
I was negative...
then
they made me drink a
"G Cocktail"...
consisting of Maalox, Lydocaine
& something else that tasted like
SH*T...
(I invited the DR to have a drink with me,
but she politely declined....
.....smart Woman.)
all that did was numb my tongue, gave me hiccups
and gave me a weird feeling in my
stomach...
so much for science....
...2 hours later I was still numb.)
BUT they determinned that I wasn't having a heart attack, thank the stars...
and that they thought it was probably just acid-reflux or gallbladder woes...
they prescribed me Previcid, and refrain from stress....HA!
told me to take it for ten days,
...we'll see how it goes!!!
Blessings from the Farm,
Lori

  2. Lori,
I love your verse and can't wait to see the finished sampler. I hope you're feeling chipper soon.

  3. You are way more patient and talented than me.

I detest hand sewing but do well with crochet and machine work.

    Your piece is beautiful.

  4. I admire anyone who has the patience (those who stitch call it relaxing) to cross stitch. I love the finished pieces so much, but I do not have the nimble fingers or "touch" to do such beautiful work. The store next to me sells the Gentle Arts Threads and I love using them to stitch around something - the colors are wonderful! Hope you feel chipper soon..

  5. Baked ziti is such comfort food. One of my favorites! Hope you get to feeling better! I had my gall bladder out last year, I thought the same thing, heart attack!

And your stitchy piece! I can't wait! Perfect size and the thread
    colors are wonderful.

    Please take care!

  6. I am already in love with your new sampler and can't wait to see it finished.

I am so glad it wasn't a heart attack. I have bad heartburn and am on medication and went through the gallbladder thing last year ending with surgery. Both can hurt like crazy when they act up! Good luck on the stress.

  8. Hope you're feeling LOTS better, Lori!
I don't have the patience or the eyesight to do that tiny stitching. Yours always look so lovely. I guess I'll just keep on hookin'.

  11. The sampler sounds lovely and I will wait patiently for it. 28ct is good and some of my really big A projects are done on 22ct hardanger - they are especially easy for those of us who are counting challenged also.
Medical issues are not fun. Good luck and feel better.
    Happy Stitching!

  12. I feel your pain, Lori- that is, I did a couple years ago! I had really bad pain for weeks, the doc put me on prilosec or something like it, and it eventually went away. modern medicine, hah! (Glad you're not having heart trouble)

  13. I do hope you are feeling better!! It can be scary when they can't figure out exactly what's going on.

I am already in love with this new design!! Can't wait to see the entire piece!

  14. Glad you got your pains checked out. Hope the medication works for you - we all know how hard the "de-stressing" part is! Love your sampler progress, too.
