Black Cats & Pumpkins ~

I have my very own,
year-round Hallowe'en Kitten here in the farmhouse...

my little Black Suzy is 15 yrs young,
and she never ceases to get me giggling...

her sweet little face is constant inspiration for my folk art...
Black Suzy has only one tooth left, bless-her-little-heart ~
...so her facial expressions sometimes are sooo silly looking!
I swear she smiles at me with a warmhearted, devoted but toothless grin
(she also drools quite a bit but we don't mind)

my work includes everything I love,
although it gets a folky 'make-over' in my mind,
and my hands just try to keep up...

new black cats & JOLs on my frame ~
inspired by my little Suzy & love for her and Hallowe'en...

see that silly grin?

I hope my work makes you grin like that when you view it...

Hoping you have a wonderful day filled with happy things!!!!!!

Blessings from the farm,

Suzy is just like my 2 crazy cats - anywhere they can squeeze in is the perfect spot for a nap. I'm really liking the broom & candy corn design you are punching. ~Ann

I love your sweet kitty (and your handiwork, too!}. My kitty that I lost in our house fire used to LOVE baskets. I could never convince him that the baskets he chose to nap in were too small for his hefty body! He was as snug as a bug in a rug! Thanks for making me smile today!

I have a 14 year old black snaggle puss. She was dumped on my dad's front lawn with 3 kittens. We found homes for the kittens. Took her to the Humane Society- they said they would "put her down", because she was black and there were too many people with superstitious natures. What!?! She is so sweet, we couldn't let that happen. She's been with us for 13 years.

I love the way Kitty's just Squeeze into things and make it look comfy... My 14 cats are always in my baskets, they think I put it there for them. I will sit my Project down go change the laundry over and they lay right on it .. gotta love them :)

Oh Lori, you've made my day again.!and apparently many other people's as well. So many touching and inspiration black cat stories in the previous comments. Black Suzy is gorgeous. I love cats of all shapes, sizes and colors but my life has been especially blessed with black cats. My big guy Coal stuffs himself into baskets (boxes, bags etc) every chance he gets. Your punch-needle designs are fabulous. That is a needlework skill I have yet to aquire.
BTW, is Black Suzy's name inspired by Laura Ingalls Wilder's cat in the "Big Woods", Black Susan?
