I'm Hopping today!

Good Chilly Morning
~ Friends & Folk ~

it finally feels more like November today ~
temps in the low 40's, crisp air & sunshine…perfect.

days like this usually find me outside taking a walk to charge up my energies ~
fill my lungs with fresh air, and my brain with inspiration!

I love to visit the smaller pine saplings in our woods on my walks.
I check their progress and give them encouragement to grow tall & strong…but
one sapling will always be chosen to come celebrate the Season with us here in the farmhouse ~

I try to choose a straight pine, but with character ~
to come  'live' in our farmhouse kitchen for a while…
Peter will dig up it's root ball so we can then replant it after it's visit with us :)

Once inside, I put it into a waterproof pot, then a big basket.
then I will hang my antique tin cookie cutters, nutmeg graters and biscuit cutters on it
…all tied with torn red homespun fabric.

~ Simple is Best ~

here is a simple project for your hands during this upcoming busy-season…

* 1889 Feather Tree *

while decorating the farmhouse,
I usually make a couple of batches of this beloved candy ~
I'm sure your family will enjoy it as much as ours, and it also makes a great gift when given in an old glass mason jar tied up with brown paper & string!

Thank You to Stacy for allowing me to be a small part in your Blog Hop!

and a VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to All of our Service Folk:
We have the Freedom to Celebrate what we love
~ because of the sacrifices you have made for us all…
{an extra special Thank You to Chris Manlick & his Family for all that you do for us!}

Thanks so much for this cute pattern and the candy recipe. I had this candy once years ago and was looking for the recipe! It will be a hit at my quilt group Christmas treat exchange!

Thanks for the tree pattern! My son is in the National Guard and did his first round of duty helping South Carolina recover from the floods. So, thanks for the kind words about our military! They do make sacrifices!

I love your stitchery and the recipe sounds delish! I served in the United States Air Force for 26 years. It was an honor to do so. Lots of sacrifices, but every one worth it! Thank you....

Hi Lori,

I am visiting from the blog hop! Nice to discover your blog.

Is there a download button? Or is this a freehand pattern to draw ourselves?

I love your blog, it'd very pretty! Will be back to visit again.
