Spring Cleaning ~

...with the more pleasant weather these past few days,
I have been starting on my Spring Cleaning ~

something about the winds blowing away the last remnants of Winter
makes me want to polish, scrub & shine everything in this old farmhouse!

our clothing and bedsheets have been lined-dryed,
along with throw rugs and curtains...
clearing out every last particle of soot from our woodstove.

the windows now sparkle, thanks to a mixture of vinegar, newspaper and elbow grease ~
and the wood floors have been waxed to a mellow glow.

fresh flowers have been placed in old ironstone and set upon the mantle
as a reminder of what is yet to come....

even the front porches have been swept free of leaves and wood chips
from our never-ending woodpiles ~

it's also a great time to declutter my somewhat organized sweing room...
I'll keep what I really, really (think) i need,
and donate or give away...

time to take stock of what wools,
threads & fabrics are needed for more springtime creating!
So now I'm off to do just that...
Hoping your day is a sunny & creative one~

Blessings from the Farm...
Lori

I am waiting for it to get nice enough to throw everything in the back yard. We have a problem with dampness and time to throw anything away that I don't need and do a cellar scrubbing.

I love spring cleaing - it is a rebirth of everything new and shiny. Unfortunately mine will have to wait because I still have piles of snow everywhere and it is -19C today - not very spring like or motivating :)
