oh Brother.....

I'd be lost without my Brother....
{sewing machine that is...}
I have had this Brother sweing machine for about 11 years...
it has never failed me, and whirs & purrs like new.
I keep it cleaned & oiled and at-the-ready
here in my sewing room...
right now it is going constantly ~
working hard at finishing new dolls & such
for September's show here...
yes, most of my stitching is by hand...
I love the 'finishing' aspect of my work,
and I love to see hand stitching...mine or someone else's.
I sew on a machine not because it makes work faster, but makes my work stronger...
as I have a habit of hand sewing OVER the machine stitching to hide it....
don't ask....
I just love doing that~
I also have my old PFAFF treadle that I use occasionally,
(right now she needs some work on her feeder dogs, so she's resting...)
SEW...
um, I mean Soooo...
back to work I go.
What kind of machine do you own/use/wish you had?

Blessings from the Farm,
Lori
P.S
THANKS for all of the comments on my last post!
wishing you all great luck on winning Lumeena
{and, sister....thank you from the bottom of my Heart for your special comment...
I Love You & wish you were here with me everyday!!}

I have an old Singer machine from the last 70's. I have bought several newer machines.. They are built of Plastic. I didn't care for them... That old metal heavy Singer is the best one yet !!!

I have a Bernina that I got when I was pregnant with my son 30 years ago ( his turning 30 made me feel awful ....LOL ). It has been a great machine, but I don't use it enough. I used to make my own clothes, who does that anymore ???

Hi Lori,

I have a brother too; she's about 5 years old now, an inexpensive Wal Mart buy but she does a great job and I love her. Isn't it odd we become bonded some how even to the materials and machines used do create something that makes us happy. I know I love my old girl and I would be completely lost without her.

Blessings,

Sallie

I have a number of sewing machines, but my go to machine is also an inexpensive Brother! It hums right along and does a beautiful job. I would highly recomend them to anyone. I really need to get mine working on some dolls and things for a show in November.I just haven't been very motivated lately!

Hi Lori,

My day starts with your blog! I just bought a new Husqvarna (on sale at Joanns), one step above the basic. I love it!

I am tough on my machines and always forget to clean and oil them. I need to take better care of my new one, she does sew like a dream and someday I will figure out how to use all the features.
