H O M E

Where is HOME?
...but in your Heart.

I am blessed to be able to call two places HOME...
...last week, I ventured on my yearly jaunt up to my beloved Connecticut...
I visited with Family & Friends,
celebrated my Mom's 80th birthday with her,
ate home-cooked meals
and spent some much needed time with my two sisters,
Sharon & Louisea....

...we shopped, laughed and reminisced...
and together we strengthened our love.

I walked in ancient graveyards
(pics to come),
sat in quiet woods and enjoyed the ocean breeze
...while strolling along the sandy beaches...

I ate lobster rolls
(too many, & that added to MY rolls...)
and brought home a well-stocked supply of oyster stew
(thanks Mom!!)

I saw familiar faces,
Old friends, places almost forgotten~

ah yes...
the comforts of
H O M E...

these pics show the
Thimble Islands....

a place not too far from where I lived in Guilford, CT.

...see them off in the distance?

... folks actually live on them.

a whirlwind trip to say the least...
from Stratford to Guilford,
...Milford, Seymour and back.
then~
H O M E
again...

...back to my Blue Ridge Mountains.
quiet farm-life & fresh air.

a slower pace, a friendly wave~
front porches and gardens....
....Blessed that I can hold two places so deeply in my heart!!
Blessings from the Farm,
Lori

I think once the Blue Ridge Mts. get a hold on you, it's hard to stay away for long!
Glad you had such a nice trip.

Glad you had a good trip. I have visited both of your homes, the SMKY Mts. and CT. Both are such beautiful places, mountains and the sea. It is very hard to make a choice on which is better. Better just to love both. Hope you have a great July 4th.

Home truly is where the heart can rest with comfort. A blessing when our childhood home is still one we can return to. Hope your 4th is a great one! Hugs and blessings...

My sister lives in CT and we have done the Thimble Island boat tour a few times, I only wish I could call one of those little thimbles my own! Right now all I can think of, however, are lobster rolls..thanks a lot!

Both places seem like slices of Heaven.

You are a lucky woman indeed.
