{ a perfect day }

Rain
woodstove
cat
lap
soup
linen
needle
thread
old movie
twinkle lights
candles...

all add up to make a perfect day for me!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
yesterday, we were blasted with the remnants of that hurricane...
(what's the name?)
and it soaked us terribly with pounding rain
& whipped us around with 50 mph winds.
our cellar is flooded, and peter & I have been taking turns
running the pump to banish the collected water
to the backyard where it belongs.
our creek in the back is so swollen,...
it sounds like rapids from behind the farmhouse.
even as the weather furied around me, I was content,
...cozy & warm in my little nest...
stitching the day away.
today it is raining still,
& I think it will be an encore performance of yesterday...
Above is a 'sneak peek' of the painting that will be available on my Christmas page on
http://www.spookytimejingles.com/
launched this evening at midnight,
it was painted by me onto an early breadboard...
please visit the artists of STJ !!!!
Hoping your day is perfect, just the way you like it...
Peace & Plenty be Yours,
Lori
Lori, How appropriate, the Thanksgiving turkey bringing in Santa? I know lots of people who put up their trees on Thanksgiving!
Can't wait for midnight!
I feel exactly the same about rainy days. They can be a treasure!
Your Santa painting is very charming! It would make a great cross stitch chart, too!
That painting is so neat AND clever. It's one that can stay up for much of the winter season. Great job, Lori!
