~ New Punch Needle Patterns ~

 Howdy Friends,
and a happy HOT Monday afternoon to us all!

it is official,

I am OVER the SUMMER of 2024 already.

no rain, no coolness, too hot, no air.
done.

so poke me with a fork
I'm DONE!

I've been a hermit in the AC for weeks on end, held captive in my stitching chair.
but I am having fun lol

just thought I would let ya'll know I've just listed a few new items to the Etsy Shop

this punch needle pattern below is called
"the First Pumpkin"
and I punched it using DMC & Valdani threads.

Peter made the Black Heart Mounting board hanger for me to put it on,
and I love it so much we thought we'd make some for you too.

the heart is called ~
Black Heart Hanger in our Etsy shop...
it is painted on both sides so that way I can mount something on both sides
to get me through the seasons
without having to change things out completely LOL
{which I'll do anyway, but whateverrrr...}

and here is another punch pattern called
Mary's Pumpkins
yes, another version of my little Mary Witch...
this was punched using all Valdani threads.

...well I'm off to make supper.
Tuna Melts for us tonight, nothing special and I'm definitely not cooking in this kitchen!

thanks for stopping by!

OH!!! & P.S.
I saw that I received comments on my last post, and now they are GONE.
{thanks Blogger}
if you commented, can you send again so I can try to figure out wth is happening?
THANKS!

~ Good Things ~

Good Morning Friends & Folk!
a very happy Thursday to you all ~

Isn't this mid-October weather fabulous?
well, it is here in beautiful old Virginia!

2 days in a row I have been wearing
socks and long pants and a long sleeved shirt ~ seems weird not to be barefoot!

So ~
I have been stitching on models...
are you like me and have so many project bags for your WIPS?

I love this one...
it is from my talented friend Vitoria Gable at
 Stitch N Button <---click br="" here="">

I love sugar skulls and anything Dia de los Muertos
and just had to keep this one for myself!

I mean just look at the quality and detail...
and that zipper pull is to DIE for {pun intended}
💀

here is the lining fabric
seen through the heavy vinyl front:

and here is the back!
🌼 ♥ 🌺 ♥ 🏵 ♥ 💮 ♥ 🏵 ♥ 🌺 ♥ 🌼

I am almost finished with this cross stitch design..
I named it 'Indian Summer' when I designed it in August,
so the name is staying even though I will be releasing it in a few days!

my gorgeous scissor fob also came from Vicki ~
there are so many cool things in her Etsy shop...
fobs....scissors....needle minders....project bags!

I have to finish this corn,
one more corn cob and one more pumpkin on this.
I'm stitching it on my 30ct. Old Farmhouse Linen
using 2 strands of DMC threads over 2 threads of linen ~

I like to switch between two of my favorite antique hoops when I work,
it helps the linen to keep from getting too marked by the hoops.

That's it for today!
what are you working on?
stitching? punching? hooking?
beading? embroidery?

there is so much creativity in each of us...
hoping you use a little bit of yours today!

~ Tuesday Morning Musings ~

 Hello Friends & Folk!
and a happy blustery October Tuesday to you all!

Definitely my kind of weather,
but then again...
I am just a little Yankee farm-witch aren't I?

the days & nights are getting cooler
and the leaves have finally begun to resemble the season they are in...
we are in need of rain badly here though,
and I continue to set bowls of water out for my fur, feather and insect friends
in need of a drink or three ~

October is my very favorite month of all!

Saturday my Tribe was here in the Studio ~
there is never a dull moment when we gather...
we stitch, bead, hook & eat,
between laughter and outrageous outbursts
of silliness that only a tribe member can understand lol!

Anita brought along a potful of heartwarming white chicken chili and toppings,
Nancy B made us a delicious batch of carrot/cardamom soup ~
Joan made raisin custard pie, and Nancy B also made her owl cupcakes!

one thing leads to another...
because we get inspired to make so many things!
an impromptu bead class had a few of us {me included} working on a new bracelet
and digging through jars of broken and salvageable jewelry parts ~

the only sane tribe member, is in the very background ~ LOL Sharon!

I'm back to doing embroidery ~
putting aside the uncounted cross stitch for now...
and working on new patterns, techniques and designs.

this little 2" x 2-1/2" Santa is in my hoop today:

watching these come to life before my eyes...
layer upon layer of thread and tiny stitches ~
this will be a finished brooch with a beaded edge!

What are you all working on?
autumn/halloween or have you shifted to winter/christmas?
are you hooking? stitching or punching?
do tell ...

Enjoy the rest of your day,
I hope to be back here with a finish in a few days.

Good Morning Friends & Folk ~

seems as though I might just be...

~ Getting Lucky ~

Hello Friends & Folk ~
and a very happy Monday to you!

can you believe there are only 2 days left till March?
and as mild as it has been, me thinks it will be coming in like a lamb...

I finished my little Lucky Witch!
and as pleased as I am with her,
I just noticed that I left off one single star in the background...
there, in between the tip of her hat and the letter "C" ~
... there should have been a tiny gold metallic star!

*sigh*

oh well. I may be able to surface stitch one on there...
but I have already finished off the back of this project.

I wanted to leave the finished work in the hoop,
so I covered the back ~

I thought about how I could attach the back to the hoop
and came up with the idea of carrying my thread around and over the sides of the hoop...

...making "X" stitches as I went around.

I'm happy with it!

Now that this is finished,
I am excited to share with you a new project that I've been wanting to make for a while...
a scissors pocket that will have you 'leaping' with joy!

stay tuned!

~ In Case You Missed It! ~

Good Morning Friends & Folk!
it's Thursday again ~ this day seems to come around quickly lately...
maybe because I'm counting down the days
~ till SPRING arrives here at Notforgotten Farm?
~ ❁ ❀ ❁ ~

Just in case you don't visit Facebook or Instagram,
I am posting on the blog here this morning to show you
this awesome Spool Caddy that Peter made
~ to hold my spools of embroidery floss/thread!

❋ ∗ ❋ ∗ ❋ ∗ ❋

I cannot tell you how thrilled I was when he brought this up from his workshop!
that squeal you heard? yeah, that was me!

Here is it,
shown next to our Floss Winder Box ~
I wind all of my floss/threads onto these little wooden spools using this box and winder-gadget that Peter made ~

He made my Spool Caddy in a Stained finished, which I love!

⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶⊶

The Caddy has a compartment to hold my scissors & such, and it also can hold two of our Accessory Spool Stands nicely!

It will come with spools, more info on that later....

፠፠፠፠፠፠

There are a total of 4 racks, that can hold up to 7 fully loaded spools comfortably,
and our spools hold a full skein of DMC floss each!

...the ends of each rack hold even tinier spools,
that you remove to slide on your loaded spool of thread ~

This is a perfect tool to use with Punch Needle, Embroidery,
or any other Needleart involving spools of thread~

I'll be adding these to our Etsy Shop this evening ~
{{ they are 9x9x4 }}

Super Fun!
Super FUNctional!

&
Thank you Peter for always thinking of "our" needlework needs
