~ Spring Again and another hooked project finished! ~

A new day and it's Spring again!
yesterday we woke to snow, today is sunshine & warmer temps ~
crazy weather....

I hooked this rug yesterday while it snowed, then rained...
"Rest Thy Head"

it's made to be placed on the back of your chair,
in this case one of my old tattered wingbacks in our Keeping Room ~

I bound the edges with wool, that I whip-stitched on with Valdani pearl cotton.

early morning sunshine just peeking in...

Hooked up real fast in a #9 cut using my Sizzix cutter and die

I used oatmeal wools for the background
and a dark black-olive color wool for the lettering...
then I just used scrap worms for the border ~

you could hook yours using whatever color wools you prefer
for your warm, comfortable home decor ~
and even finish it into a large stuffed pillow!

I want to thank my dear friend Joan for the idea to design and hook this one ~
she has an antique sampler that is displayed on the back of her chair in her dining room,
and suggested it would make for a great way to display a hooked mat ~
I agree.

To see all of my rug hooking patterns
plus this new design ~

Have a beautiful day my friends ~ and create something beautiful

~ Short & Sweet {and cold!} ~

♥ Hello Friends & Folk ♥
and a happy bright and COLD December day to you!
the wind is whipping around out there,
making our already cold temps feel so much colder...
but,
I've got my love to keep me warm...

 here is my
"...to this Place" rug all hooked
and bound with wool.

the design itself measures approx 13" x 23"
... and that's before the binding was added ~

neat & tidy
love this finished-look!

here is the back ~
yes, I leave plenty of room between loops and rows...
I hate a lumpy rug :(
{{although I see a few spots where I'll add a few more small worms}}

then stitched on a patch of old ticking to use as a label ~
I use a gold sharpie to write my labels with ~
... the color looks faded & old.

I loved working on this, and will have the mailed paper pattern,
PDF downloadable pattern and pattern on linen available soon for you ~

I'm working on a few more hooked designs,
~ then will list them all in our Etsy shop soon!

I don't offer kits for these,
I just simply use wools from my scrap basket & piles, saved and collected from here & there ~
If I can remember the names of some of them, I'll pass that info along for you :)

Until then, keep warm and keep busy!

Blessings from the Farm ~
