~ Oh OCTOBER ~

Yes, OCTOBER...

I know it's April ~
but;
 October is when I will be teaching this little
Witches Leg Stocking project at the
Heavens to Betsy Hook In!!

I thought it would be a perfect class for her Autumn show & hook in ~
and a bit of a nod to my "Primsical" way of seeing things ~

I love the rusty safety pin 'shoe buckles'
❤

the stocking is backed with wool,
and measures approx. 15" long when finished ~

oh & I will teach you how to hide your tails during class,
~ so your striped portion on your project doesn't look messy along the edges ~

the hooked & faux-proddy sunflower is not part of the class,
it is being shown with the stocking as a prop,
but I will have a pattern available for it in my booth.

So here's the scoop:
the registration for the hook in & classes have not yet opened,
but keep your eye on
Betsy's website HERE and their Hook In group on Facebook, HERE
for info coming soon!

and all I have left to say is ~
YAY!!!!!

~ Wool Witch is Finished! ~

...and I LOVE her ~
and her sheep friend too!
♥

 I shortened her braid...

& gave the sheep a ribbon and bell.

I also decided not to go entirely around with the hit/miss border,
instead letting the my eye rest a bit with the black portions ~

99% of the wools I used to hook this came from
The Wool'n Gardener
and the black & oatmeals came from Heavens to Betsy
:)

 and, now you can hook this too!
the pattern is now listed in our Etsy shop,
Hand Drawn on Serged Linen
or
Paper Pattern {mailed}
and
PDF/Downloadable {instant gratification!}

I hope you love her as much as I do too ~

In Other News:

 Yep!!!
and I am shaking with excitement!
I am working on the Class Project now,
and just cannot wait to show you the finish ~

~ Working on Wool Witch ~

Good Morning
Friends & Folk!

and a happy sunny & bright Thursday to you all ~
all of our snow from yesterday's storm has melted {thankfully}
and I can see my little daffodils in our back woods once again.
 I think I'll pick some for the kitchen ~ to help keep the 'Springing' going on here...

 I recently shared my watercolor painting of my little sheep-riding Wool Witch:
she is the impetus for a new rug hooking and punch needle design
that I'm beginning to work on today ~

aren't they sweet?

what is it with me and the color purple?
I adore it in every shade, but the 'dustier' the better...
my birthstone is amethyst, so perhaps that's what started my love for the color early on...

heck, even my plants are purple!

do you see that basketful of wool?
I purchased it at the Woolwrights hook in this past saturday
{not the basket, that's mine, but the wooooools!}
those fabulous wools came from

having to simplify my initial rendering {watercolor} to be able to better hook it,
I came up with the final draft below, to which I added florals and wording...

and you see those purples in there that will become her dress of course!

I be sharing progress on the hooking part as soon as I can ~
not feeling well still from this rotten cold I have,
but am on the mend.
{and I thank you all for your kind well-wishes}

I am happy to say that we will be carrying The Wool'n Gardener's
primitive hand dyed wools in our shop!!
along with as-is and textured off the bolt wools

Shop News:
Folks you are not going to believe how different our little farm shop looks!!!!
Peter & Chris have been working on it for weeks now ~
new paint on the walls, floor and trim...
new lighting, new shelving ~ a whole new look!

we are going lighter, brighter and more farmhouse-y with our look ~
airy & breezy with a bit of chippy white sprinkled in...
and although we haven't added on to the shop, there seems to be so much more room now
 for classes and friends to gather for our Creative Saturdays & 1st Monday Nights!

we will be carrying our patterns and supplies for Rug Hooking, Punch Needle and Cross Stitch
along with a few other favorite designers' patterns as well.
and, fresh new cotton fabrics for your finishing and/or projects ~
oh!
We will have wonderful candles and jewelry for you too!

as soon as it is presentable enough, I will be sharing photos with you...
we are so excited for the refreshing change and hope you will love it too ~

Have a *SPARKLING* day everyone!!

~ Elda's Flowers Pattern Now Available ~

 Good Morning friends & Folk ~
after a six hour battle with Etsy last evening,
we are happy to say that the pattern for Elda's Flowers is now available for you
to purchase as PDF/Digital pattern, Paper Pattern or Pattern already Drawn on Linen for you!

here is a link to all of our unique rug hooking patterns, where you can also find Elda's Flowers ~

There is a quandary to the primary background wool that I used in the rug that I hooked....
I am doing my best to find the source for you!

 as soon as I locate the source {if I can} I'll let you know ~

in the meantime,
I can suggest similar color/texture wools for the background from two great sources:
The Wool Studio
{www.thewoolstudio.com}
I suggest: "Woodland Magic", Caribbean Teal", or "Mystical Mermaid"

Heavens to Betsy
{ http://www.heavens-to-betsy.com }
I suggest: "Cleo", "Alley-cat Stripe", or "Painted Turtle"
