~ WIP's & Woes ~

Good Morning Friends & Folk ~
Happy TUESDAY to us all...
{yes, I have to keep telling myself it is not Monday.}

Me thinks a #flosstube video might be made later today,
to show you a few of the Works In Progress that are now living in my stitching bags...

they run the gamut between Christmas, Everyday, Halloween & everything in-between.

so far, these are the 7 that I am flitting between
like a deranged moth...

and here are a few of my project bags ~
purple one is my beautiful PSS bag made by Faye of Carolina Stitcher,
beautiful floral bag is from Lucy Beam
skelly/day of the dead bag is from Stitch'n Button
and my favorite is my 'Witchy' bag, from Lela Mae ~

the title of this post is wip's & woes...
so you saw the wip's,
now for the woes:

I was looking through my piles of linen, to {what else} begin yet another design
and came across a few that I forgot to mark as to what color/count they are.

ugh.

I try {really} hard to pin a small note to them but sometimes they fall off
leaving me quite perplexed.
of course I can always figure out the count,
but the color or dye is another story.

so I know that the one on the top of the pile below is osnaburg ~
I do love cross stitching on that even though it is such a weird wonky count {35/36} and has cotton 'seeds' in it and is not 100% natural {cotton/poly}
but, the bottom two remain a mystery as to the color name...

and the one below with the needle in it is {I think} my own hand dyed/stained
Old Farmhouse Linen...
but I can't identify the other two.

How do you all store/organize your linens?
~ are they labeled?
~ by count or color?
~ what is your preferred count to cross stitch on?

Inquiring minds and all that...

~ Cozy Autumn Farmhouse ~

 Greetings Friends & Folk!
~ and a happy most-beautiful Autumn October-ish day to you all...

it is a perfect day for hooking in my keeping room...
working on a new design called
"Holly Olde Santa"
{ from Notforgotten Farm™}

the late morning sun slips through my shutters next to my working chair ~

I've done a tiny bit of decorating for Autumn,
~ but will be bringing more of my Halloweenies out soon...

I think I might work in some of my hand spun wool yarn
to this fellow's beard and brow:

Last night I had posted to my members on my
to kindly share their collections of antique/vintage rug hooks...
here are a few of mine:

the Joan Moshimer hook from Kennebunkport, Maine
was the very first hook I stared with over 30 years ago ~

I don't use bent hooks,
but I do grab them for my collection when I see them while I'm shopping "oot & aboot"
{if Joan doesn't spot them first!}

I do switch between hooks to keep my hand from getting too tired...
my ergo steel hook that Peter makes is my favorite, but I also use a miller ball
~  and an antique hook too.
{I keep them in my sliding lid needle box}

here is a different angle of the keeping room ~

my favorite Pumpkin guy
made by Becky Carney of A Wing and a Prayer ~
{{ you can find Becky on PFATT and Early Work Mercantile }}

and a small chalkware black cat from Misi Axel of Gable House Goods....

more goodies live in my Witches Cupboard all year long...

 Well my friends, my hook is calling me ~
time to get back to work!

Hoping your day is filled with wonderful Autumn Goodness!

~ And We're Punching.....

Yep!
The gears have switched {what else is new?}
...finishing up my new Christmas/Winter punch needle designs for you!

'Santa Deer'
is in progress...
well, almost finished really ~

just a little more to do yet ~
using Valdani #8 pearl cotton & DMC 6 strand in this design...

also using different heights on some parts to make them more dimensional & fun!
{like the trim on his coat & hat}

I like using both variegated pearl cotton & plain DMC 6 strand in one design,
it gives a different look to m finished work and is a little easier
 on the pocket-book when you use DMC for the fill-in of the background!

I have a few more to work on, and will show them to you soon ~
I will be adding all of the new NFF designs and Wooden Wares to our Etsy shop very soon!

Have a beautiful Sunday my stitching friends!

~ Down the Tube ~

Good Monday to You ~
 Friends & Folk

I am almost finished with another new cross stitch design,
called  ~ 'Huswifery'.

I charted it a year or so back, started it and then stopped working on it.
It was calling out to me last evening
as I was walking past my basket of
UFO's ....

I have so many that need finishing.
but, I follow my muse wherever she lands me and that is just the way it is.

pretty colors and a sweet verse
make for a simple yet charming little stitchling.

oh! I almost forgot....
I have been added to the list of fellow
FLOSSTUBE - ers.
:)

I'll be working on new videos soon
but for now if you'd like to subscribe to my channel, the link is:
~ and don't forget to check out #flosstube on Instagram too!

 Off to the PO today, and tomorrow,
... and most likely Wednesday too...
{ thank you kindly for your continued support of what we love to do }
