~ Virginia Rug Fest ~

 ~ Hello Friends & Folk! ~
and Happy Sunday to you all...

we have returned from our trip to Richmond VA for the
annual Virginia RugFest put on by the Shockoe Slip Rug Hookers

We stared the day by teaching a crash course in punch needle to these loverly ladies ~
{ hi ladies! }

The vendor booths were set up in the foyer of the 
Virginia Museum of History & Culture ~

{of course on came home with me, and Joan as well}
 

wild colorful wools from Mary's Wool Garden ~
{picked up a couple of pieces}
 

drool-worthy woolens from sweetfolks at The Wool Studio ~ 
{yep got some of those too}


the raffle tables were FULL of treasures!
 

this year's Challenge Rugs were based on Children's Art Drawings ~
how adorable are these??

this year we were honored to have my sweet friend Michele Micarelli as guest speaker ~
Michele and I lived not far from each other in CT, 
and she was the person who helped me fall in love with rug hooking ~
 {hello to you beautiful Michele! was SO good to see you again!}

~ Happy News!! ~


 Hello Friends & Folk!

Peter & I have something to share with you...


that's right!!
this year, 2018 ~ marks our tenth year for our
Gathering of Primitive Friends show here on the farm ~
how time flies when you're having fun!

... to make this year even more special,
we have decided to turn our attention to our love of rug hooking and all things wool!
SO, along with our vendors & dealers of primitives, antiques and folk art ~
we are honored to include awesome *new* vendors of rug hooking related wares for you!


you might know that we have been in the process of renovating our shop 
to better accommodate more room for us when we gather to hook {punch, stitch...}
 and for our classes
but we have a surprise for you...


On the day of the Gathering, in addition to general shopping in our dealers' booths and our shop,
you can pre-register to enjoy a full day of Rug Hooking with us 
~ for our 1st ever {and soon to be annual} Hook In & Rug Show!!

excited yet? 
~ we are!!


Hook In attendees will need to pre-register to hold their seat, {Limited to 50 attendees}
$25.00 registration for the Hook In includes:

*paper bag lunch {turkey/ham sandwich, chips, drink, fruit & sweets}
*Rug Show space to show your work
*all day Hooking under our Porch Roof & all day shopping!
{*registered attendees will receive more info}

how much more fun can one have, than to be hooking with friends old and new ~
...while enjoying the sights & sounds of a beautiful farm in the Early Fall...
shopping to your hearts' content 
sharing your wonderful hooked rugs with everyone to admire?



 I hope you are as excited about this as Peter & I are...
there is lots of work to be done, but this is something that we have talked about for many years
and now is the perfect time to do it.

Hello Friends & Folk!

this past Saturday we attended the
Goose Creek Ruggers annual Hook-In in Hamilton, VA

what a great turnout there was!!
so many friends happily playing with wool ~
