Tea Talk & Embroidery Class...
Saturday, April 6th from 10:00 ~ 4:00

our dear friend & herbologist

Nancy Bauer will be teaching us how to blend teas, 

share with us her tea herbs & spices, talk about properties of teas 

and then we will get to taste those wonderful teas!

~ students will also keep their own blended loose teas to take home...

while the teas are steeping,
Lori will be teaching a very simple embroidered tea jar topper class,
to adorn your tea jar once you've filled it with your special blend of tea ~

 

a bit about our friend Nancy ~
Nancy Bauer began on her herbal path in 1988,
with culinary herbs but then began using herbs for healing and medical purposes.
She has attended many classes, both in person and online, with knowledgeable instructors such as:
Dr. James Duke and Susan Belsinger at Buffalo Springs Herb Farm,
and most recently at the Honeystead with Kaylee Richards...

her online webinars and studies include The Herb Mentor, Herbal Academy,
Learning Herbs, The Essential Herbal and online courses through homesteaders such as
Melissa K. Norris and Carolyn Thomas.

Nancy has a vast library of herbal books,
with favorite authors such as Rosalee De La Foret, Rosemary Gladstar ~
she says her very first book on herbs is The Pleasure of Herbs, by Phyllis Shaudys.

~ The embroidered portion of class will be simple and fun,
the kits for students will be provided and will include DMC cotton floss,
teapot pattern hand drawn for you by Lori onto osnaburg cloth, embroidery needle,
small embroidery hoop, and small glass jar with lid to store your teas...
 
Basic embroidery stitches will be taught, so no embroidery experience is necessary.

We will be providing refreshments during class,
but if you would like to bring a bag lunch please do.
