I was just notified by a customer/friend, that there is a website
www.lariveesewing.com that is offering kits AND patterns of my Little Nick & Cookie Klaus
without my permission or having notified me, contacted me or even purchased from me as a wholesale or retail customer. I went to this website and sure enough, there they were, with MO MENTION of myself being the actual designer....
there is even another product listed on there that employs customers to purchase a cross stitch design to 'help out a young family dealing with cancer'....with no mention of the actual pattern designer's name.

I called the number listed in their 'contact' info, and it took me to a shop in the USA that said they are receiving numerous phone calls from others concerned by this,
and they told me their phone number was stolen and being used by someone internationally.
when you click on the websites 'customer care' link, it blathers on about refunds, tracking and shipping...highly suspicious!

ReplyDeleteDitto what Lauren said. And the older I get, the less tolerant of this "stuff" I become. I'm very close to seriously and truly "unplugging" from the "social media" world completely...as well as the whole phone thing. In any event, I hope these scammers get a visit from Karma.

ReplyDeleteI just read about this in a TK post. I researched a little and found your designs, which I was coming here to alert you to. The phone number actually goes to a tailor shop. This sickens me that there are people in the world with no conscience. I was almost tempted to place an order just to see what I would get and see if it led to anything, but I'm sure they've got all their bases covered and I'd rather not give them any monetary support for their criminal activities.
