Good Morning
~ Friends & Folk ~ can the weatherman be true?
will we indeed have sun & temps in the 70's today??
if that is indeed factual,
then I will be throwing everything into the washer and hanging out loads upon loads of laundry!
{ I enjoy hanging my laundry on the line, as my mother, aunts and sister have taught me well. }
~ when all that has been wind-blown dry, folded and put away ~
I may take a look at my wintering gardens and see if I spy any sprouts.
Taking full advantage of the warmer weather today ~
I'd like to get a jump on my Spring Cleaning.
Only after all has been said & done,
will I return to my needle and thread....
I want to be just like her when I grow up... |
Oh Spring!
please come quick...I'm desperate for warm breezes
& sunshine on my face...everyday!
please come quick...I'm desperate for warm breezes
& sunshine on my face...everyday!
I want to stitch on the porch swing
and listen to the whippoorwills sing...
and listen to the whippoorwills sing...
Pick fresh Strawberries and salad greens...
wear cotton skirts & t-shirts.

Watch the Sheets blow in the breeze
and hear the buzzing of the Bees...
and hear the buzzing of the Bees...
Oh Spring, ...be Sprung!!!

A lovely post, as always, Lori. Today I too will clean house and, if my knees aren't talking too much afterward, I will cut back the remaining perennials before they want to green up from the roots again (don't want all that greening energy to go to the tips of straggly plants now, do we!). Then I shall sit in my needlework chair, prop my feet up, and stitch the remains of the day away!
ReplyDeleteSunny Arizona is in the rain today so no gardening for me. I love all the beautiful stitching pictures you posted today.
ReplyDeleteYou found some sweet paintings, thanks for sharing! I wish I could see the frame in that last painting. Either some great liberties were taken for art, or that frame has another section that holds her needlework. But what holds it up? An unseen strap, propped against her front, her arm under the work?? I don't think I've seen a modern frame similar.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful paintings ! Can't wait for Spring too !!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! Spring seems to be springing all over the place today! Here in New Hampshire we are supposed to get to almost 50! Oh, I so want spring...
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely paintings you found, I may have to borrow a couple for my blog sidebar... where on earth did you find so many beautiful stitching ladies?! I agree, I want to be like that older lady with a smile on her face as she pushes her needle in and out of her work!!! Oh, wait a minute, I am an older lady, well, okay not quite that old yet but let's just say there was a significant birthday in my life this past November! How on earth did that happen so fast? Anyway, as always hugs for now (today) from a not so brrrr New Hampshire...
I loved your post. Your little stitched bird is wonderful.
