Hello Friends & Folk ~
and a very happy Monday to you!
can you believe there are only 2 days left till March?
and as mild as it has been, me thinks it will be coming in like a lamb...
I finished my little Lucky Witch!
and as pleased as I am with her,
I just noticed that I left off one single star in the background...
there, in between the tip of her hat and the letter "C" ~
... there should have been a tiny gold metallic star!
*sigh*
oh well. I may be able to surface stitch one on there...
but I have already finished off the back of this project.
I wanted to leave the finished work in the hoop,
so I covered the back ~
I thought about how I could attach the back to the hoop
and came up with the idea of carrying my thread around and over the sides of the hoop...
...making "X" stitches as I went around.
I'm happy with it!
♥
Now that this is finished,
I am excited to share with you a new project that I've been wanting to make for a while...
a scissors pocket that will have you 'leaping' with joy!
stay tuned!
Blessings from the Farm
~

ReplyDeleteAye and Begorrah! "Tis darlin' she is, the Lucky Little Witch!!! That one tiny gold star is there...it's just hiding behind a cloud.;) I adore X stitches, as I think they are very witchy...and the way you attached the back to the hoop was just the trick. Just curious as to the size of the hoop...
ReplyDeleteClever finish!
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with this little witch. I liked how you finished her using the hoop. Another creative work of art.

Love the backing! Curious to understand how you achieved such a smooth turned-under backing edge, and then kept it taut and straight while stitching the Xs ??!
